I have those insects in the garden as well! They bunch together tightly and I presume the black ones are female, there are also green ones that are bigger. Or maybe the bigger one is the female! I will attach a photo I took a while ago (at least, I think its the same bugs?):

Thank you for the photo and they are called Twig Wilter nymphs. As you can see, they are totally different to the adults.

Thank you for the identification! They are everywhere, the adult insects. I have lots of amaranth (marog) growing and it seems like they have the likes for them!
My pleasure and Marog I know very well as we ate it on the farm in a mash with potatoes.
You must keep an eye out for the adult ones as they are beautiful and make great macro targets.

Sorry, out of BEER, please retry later...
I will thank you! I normally make pap with marog, imfuno pap I think it's called. But the mash and marog sound just as good!
Thank you for reminding me of Marog. My gran used to make it and like said potato cubes were added to it. Also some onion and other stuff were in it. Really delicious stuff.

I think this will be my lunch sometime this week. Cubed potatoes, sweet pepper, onion, and marog! Thanks for this awesome memory you shared with me that triggered a recipe!
Sounds very nice and enjoy my friend 😊
Have some !WINEX with it.
