Hello everyone, we didn't posted for a while. We were focused on exams on University and we still didn't clear all of them π, but at least we have a summer break to take our brains on vacation. Also Dominik is lately very into Splinterlands and almost all his attention on internet goes there since the Splinterlands is in it's bloom.
The time of this post is back two months ago when Dominik and I were in Δiovo and Pirovac for a weekend and here I will meet you with the hill next to Pirovac were you can take a walk to the top and see a nice view.
Since this is two months ago it wasn't so hot so it was a good little walk trip.
First we took a half and hour walk to get to the bottom of the hill.
While we walked there we saw many colorful little boats and this yellow one really caught our eyes.
The hill is almost covered all in Aleppo pine trees, we already mention the importance of this species, but it is not bad to repeat it, Aleppo pine is very good for reforestation in fire areas.
Here we came to the very bottom of the hill and we started to climb from here.
For this plant I am not sure about it's name, only I can assume that it belongs to Poaceae family. Actually I took a picture of this plant because I wanted it to be like in center of photo.
This is the part of the way that we took, it is full of plants from tree forms to little bushes.
This beautiful white flower is named White laceflower ( Orlaya gradniflora (L.) Hoffm.) . It reminds me of the tablecloths our grandmothers used to sew from lace, shape of the flower is so unusual.
This long plant down below is from the Scrophulariaceae family, the plant look so stable.
The two photos below are showing the part where people dig a part of the soil, I am not sure for what purpose exactly but I assume it is for parking maybe. You can see how conditions for plants to grow are difficult, a lot of hard stones. It is very hard for roots to grow here, so only species that are capable to survive this conditions grow here.
This photo shows a species of oak that grows in Mediterranean. The name is Downy oak ( Quercus pubescens Willd.)
The leafs are familiar to other oak species, but if you are not very into knowing the differences between species you can always know that this is Downy oak because of area where it grows.
This are remains of flower of the species called Maidenstears ( Silene vulgaris (Moench) Garcke ). I hope that next year we will come to Pirovac to take photos of flowers.
This species is called Pink rock-rose ( Cistus creticus L.) You can see on photos this tiny hair. All plant is covered in it even fruits, in that way the plant can hold the water better and the transpiration is decreased.
This little woody fruits are so adorable.
Plant with red berries is Laurustinus ( Viburnum tinus L.). This plant is very common in this area and it has evergreen leafs.
This prickly plant which can grow to 2 meters down on photo is Illyrian thistle ( Onopordum illyricum L.).
Just look at this little thorns, they were very pointy. Also I really like the color of this plant, this pale color is not very usual to see.
On this photo you can see how the vegetation looked almost all the way up to the hill. Pine trees, bushes, little pointy plants, you need to be careful when walking trough this kinds of vegetation because of a lot of pointy plants, not very pleasant feeling, even if it's amazing to see how plants adapted here.
Here you can see a part of Pirovac.
On this photo you can see on right side coastal part of Pirovac. In that time there weren't almost any ships on sea, so the view looked so calm, no motors from ships making noises in distance.
On this two photos below I wanted to take photos of plants in the middle, just some experiments. π

This one is my favorite, flower is just too beautiful.
