We started our 2023 with a natural surprise here in our neighborhood. At this time of the year, the plant realm is divided between green and dry brown. So, any color different from that captures the attention and delights by creating a view with contrast. Just a few blocks from my house I found an Araguaney tree in full bloom. What a spectacle! I share with you pictures of this early bloomer Araguaney tree in its vibrant yellow.
Iniciamos nuestro 2023 con una sorpresa natural aquí en nuestro barrio. En esta época del año, el reino de las plantas se divide entre el verde y el marrón seco. Así, cualquier color diferente a ese capta la atención y deleita creando una vista con contraste. A pocas cuadras de mi casa encontré un árbol de Araguaney en plena floración. ¡Qué espectáculo! Comparto con ustedes fotos de este árbol Araguaney de floración temprana en su color amarillo vibrante.
Araguaney trees bloom between January and April mostly. They are characterized by these golden yellow, flute-shaped, five-petal flowers. During its blooming, the tree loses most of its leaves giving room only to flowers. Technically, this early bloomer is within its time, but no other tree from its family has shown its yellow cover just yet. It was the very first of this year. I found it so rare yet exceptional. There are different types of blooming trees around this one, and they are all green at the time.
Los árboles de araguaney florecen principalmente entre enero y abril. Se caracterizan por estas flores de cinco pétalos, de color amarillo dorado, en forma de flauta. Durante su floración, el árbol pierde la mayor parte de sus hojas dando lugar únicamente a las flores. Técnicamente, este florecimiento temprano está dentro de su tiempo, pero ningún otro árbol de su familia ha mostrado su cubierta amarilla todavía. Fue el primero de este año. Lo encontré tan raro pero excepcional. Hay diferentes tipos de árboles en flor alrededor de este, y todos son verdes en ese momento.
Sadly, I didn't capture this beauty in full bloom. As you can see, many flowers are covering the street already. I love that by the way; the shadows, the light, and the yellowing between. While being there, flowers were still falling; dancing in the wind on their way down.
Lamentablemente, no capturé esta belleza en plena floración. Como puedes ver, muchas flores ya están cubriendo la calle. Me encanta eso por cierto; las sombras, la luz y el amarilleo intermedio. Mientras estaba allí, las flores seguían cayendo; bailando en el viento en su camino hacia abajo.
You can observe some tender green leaves within the branches. When all the golden flowers fall, this tree will be green again and await its next time to flourish. We are in a windy season here. Most of the flowers are being torn by currents. So, to find this tree still holding up to the winds was practically a miracle. I took it as a new year present; a sign of abundance, reinvention, frugality, and growth. It is time to continue growing.
Puedes observar algunas hojas verdes tiernas dentro de las ramas. Cuando todas las flores doradas caigan, este árbol volverá a ser verde y esperará su próxima vez para florecer. Estamos en una temporada de viento aquí. La mayoría de las flores están siendo arrancadas por las corrientes. Entonces, encontrar este árbol todavía resistiendo a los vientos fue prácticamente un milagro. Lo tomé como un regalo de año nuevo; un signo de abundancia, reinvención, frugalidad y crecimiento. Es hora de seguir creciendo.
I stood there a while to enjoy the soft breeze moving the branches full of golden flowers, and making them fall all around me. People looked at me in a funny way. Even a neighbor passed by and told me "beautiful, right?" to which I said "completely." These were my five minutes of contact with a simple yet stunning element of nature. I sure have to make a resolution to enjoy nature more, make trips, photograph living things, and be there just contemplating. Anyway, I hope your beginning of the year brings beautiful natural gifts like this one, and may you feel filled with energy to walk your path in 2023.
Me quedé allí un rato para disfrutar de la suave brisa que movía las ramas llenas de flores doradas y las hacía caer a mi alrededor. La gente me miraba de forma divertida. Hasta un vecino pasó y me dijo "hermoso, ¿no?" a lo que dije "completamente". Estos fueron mis cinco minutos de contacto con un elemento simple pero impresionante de la naturaleza. Seguro que tengo que tomar una resolución para disfrutar más de la naturaleza, hacer viajes, fotografiar seres vivos y estar allí solo contemplando. De todos modos, espero que tu comienzo de año traiga hermosos regalos naturales como este, y que te sientas lleno de energía para recorrer tu camino en el 2023.

Wow, que hermosas fotografías Gael, me encantaron en el especial el contraste de la primera, el azul de ese cielo y amarillo van muy bien y luego el verde allí haciendo una compañía perfecta.
La penúltima también es hermosa, todas lo son, pero esas dos me encantaron. La naturaleza nos regala paisajes maravillosos.
Gracias Eli, tambien me gustaron mucho esas dos y de hecho la puse de portada por lo mismo. Creo muestra bien el contraste de ese florecer temprano.
