Hello Nature Lovers !

I would like to cordially invite you to another great week of the Amazing Nature Contest. There were already so many excellent entries regarding how amazing nature is in the past episodes, thanks to all of you, but there is still so much more to see! ^^ To participate in the #amazingnature contest just write up a post and explain how amazing nature is for you personally ^^

What is the Purpose of the Contest ?

I am a huge nature-lover and really enjoy taking pictures of all the lovely things that surround me every day, no matter if plants, animals or landscapes. Hive is a brilliant place to watch these while simultaneously reading and learning about nature from all over the world. There is such a diversity of great content, thanks to all of you, from different perspectives and out of various motivations. This contest attempts to collect all those beautiful snapshots and their amazing stories in a weekly compilation so that you all can benefit from the beauty that we are facing all the time, but so often are not able to appreciate in the modern and fast paced times we are living in.

#amazingnature is at home in the DNA-Discord, a organization run by people for the people, with the aim to foster and densify nature-appreciation in the blockchain. DNA is also the home of the #fascinatinginsects, the #featheredfriends and the @fungilovers communities.

Contest Rules :

POST your entry INTO the AMAZING NATURE COMMUNITY. You can also use the #amazingnature TAG if you like to ^^
CLEARLY MENTION that your post is an ENTRY for this contest.
All pictures have to be your own. You can use the amazing nature banner if you like or create your own.
STATE IN THE TEXT why those pictures are representing YOUR AMAZING NATURE. This is an ESSENTIAL part of this contest.
Drop the LINK to your post IN THE COMMENTS. You can add a picture if you like. It is NECESSARY as I have to post a link in Discord on Friday, 5 days later for voting and also for my own compiling purposes.
The entry window is open for ~ 5 DAYS. Watch out for the -CLOSED in the title.

If you miss the entry, please wait for the next round. As I have to work and also to manage a family there are no fixed UTC times.The window can open in a wide range between 10 am - 10 pm and also close accordingly ^^

The AMAZING NATURE COMMUNITY is there FOR ALL POSTS ABOUT THE AMAZING NATURE AROUND YOU. We would highly appreciate it if you share your great nature content there with us! .. The contest is located there as an integrated part and special community feature ^^ It also features the Amazing Nature Challenge (@bucipuci), the Nature News (@juangb) and various Curation Reports (@nelinoeva, @redheadpei, @tinta-tertuang) !

As nature covers an incredible wide range there is really anything possible. Amazing Natures categories could be anything from the following topics:

I will present all participants in the entries section of the announcement posts that will be published roughly one week later on Sunday (depending on my time schedule this may shift ^^). This way you will have a nice compilation of them all. As an special feature, the new title picture will be created from the entry of the contest winner. This time it is from @ladysnowhite.

How are the Winners chosen ?

The voting on the winners will be done by the whole DNA community. Therefore we created a special contest channel in the DNA Discord (Amazing Nature Contest). Here I will post the announcement post including the winners (Announcements) EACH SUNDAY together with all your entries (Entries) EACH FRIDAY. Every member of DNA will be able to assign "voting emojis" under the entries for 24 HOURS. In the end those three with the most are the lucky winners. I will engage as a judge in case of a draw ^^

THIS WEEKS WINNERS

The winner of this weeks contest with a really amazing entry is @ladysnowhite with her entry about "Šalinački lug". Šalinački lug is a century-old oak forest near Smederevo town. Such forests used to dominate these areas and during late autumn the canopies are without leaves and reveal the grandeur of this forest how beautiful it is. The 200 to 300 years old oak trees are also excellent for children to climb and walk on. Oaks can be found everywhere throughout the northern hemisphere and perfectly symbolize power and strength. These trees that are also associated with the supreme gods, Zeus, Jupiter, and Perun, because it is a symbol of strength, power, and life. The canopy is a part of the sky, and the root represents the underground world and connects us with our ancestors. Here is the entry from @pablo1601 who always surprises us with some great post showing him and his family enjoying the beautiful nature around them. This time it is about a walk along the Recodo at the Colorado River. Here the the inhabitants use the river to irrigate large fields with its water to obtain their food and supply for the rest of the town. This is done with great care and respect for nature by modifying the landscapes and ecosystems as little as possible and the return of the unused water to the river. Thank you very much for this beautiful entry and a reminder that a symbiosis of humans and the nature they were born into is not only an utopic dream, but and really easy realizable lifestyle. All it need is dedication and the will to really do it ^^

We had another great entry from @porters this week and as always it features the stunning beauty of Canada ^^ This week we get to see what happens when the temperatures suddenly drop to the freezing mark even the rains begins to freeze instantly, driving becomes highly treacherous, and the trees and bushes are coated with ice and thick snow layers so that the branches start to bend down under the weight of it all .. Thank you again for one of your wonderful entries ^^
