Hello, I present: Nephila pilipes, a genus of golden silk orb-weavers, which occurs in Southeast Asia.
Hallo! Ich stelle vor: Nephila pilipes, eine Gattung der Seidenspinnen, welche in Südostasien vorkommt.
I could only photograph the spider from behind and from the side. The web of this spider can get very big, so sometimes there is no way around it. That being said, I honestly don't find it easy to get close. Silk orb-weavers are not dangerous to humans, something I know, but still, to be too close gives me goosebumps.
Die Spinne konnte ich nur von hinten und von der Seit fotografieren. Das Netz dieser Spinne kann sehr groß werden, weshalb manchmal kein Weg drumherum führt. Abgesehen davon fällt es mich ehrlich gesagt nicht leicht näher heranzugehen. Seidenspinnen sind für den Menschen nicht gefährlich, etwas das ich weiß, aber die Nackenhaare stellen sich bei mir trotzdem hoch ab einer gewissen Nähe.
The size of the body of a female is given on Wikipedia as 30-50 mm, while males have a body size of just 5 to 6 mm.
Die Größe des Körpers eines Weiblichen wird auf Wikipedia mit 30-50 mm angegeben, während Männchen gerade mal eine Körpergröße von 5 bis 6 mm haben.
So far I've seen this kind of spider many times and they all sat motionless in their web while waiting for prey. Which is why you can actually observe quite relaxed.
Bisher habe ich diese Art von Spinne schon öfters gesehen und die saßen alle regungslos in ihrem Netz, während sie auf Beute warten. Weshalb man eigentlich recht entspannt beobachten kann.
