As a newcomer who recently returned to being active on hive I tried to take part in a contest held in this community by @ hive-127788. I tried to find photos about climbing trips that I often do for research activities and outdoor sports with the community of nature lovers in my area. we are always expecting to find some amazing things on the journey.
In this activity, we made a hike to the tropical rainforest in northern Aceh - Indonesia, which is said to be the lung of the world. precisely on the Krueng Pase mountain with an altitude of 1517 MASL. our trip did for one week and many extraordinary things we found and I share some of the photos below. we were very surprised by what we saw, they are doing massive logging in our forest. without thinking about the consequences that will occur in the downstream area of the river in the future.
There we saw heavy equipment cutting down trees which they had marked with coordinates, height, width and the name of the tree species to be cut. Obviously this is not the act of the community because tree identification and other data collection activities can only be carried out by those who are experts in their fields and have complete equipment.
Very sad to see trees being removed in a world where we need to protect, hopefully new trees are planted in time to grow for the future. Thanks for interesting hike @irwanumpal
thank you @joanstewart
