Yesterday was a lovely day. Lots of sun, and we still had an appointment to meet to visit friends before my wife goes back to Spain for a few months.
Because we were still with two risk patients, we decided to wait for the weather so that we could put ourselves outside, still Covid-19 in mind.
And yes, temperatures up to 25C, which is already very pleasant here in Belgium, invited us for a nice afternoon.
They have a very beautiful and large garden, and the ornament of that garden is a koi pond. And with the sun on the pond, this would give me nice pictures.
The water was not very clear, because two weeks ago our friends bought a new koi and put it in the pond.
But it brought a disease into the water, so it had to be ensured that the water contained enough medication to save the other fish.
Half the pond was also covered with a hood, so that the fish could calmly get under it. It was also feared that if I stood on the side of the pond, the fish would go into the depths to take shelter.
But apparently the fish had a different opinion, and they spontaneously swam towards me and some even came up to ask for food.
And it all resulted in beautiful photos.
The largest of the fish is just under a meter long. Five years ago he was weighed once and then it weighed 17 kg. Impressive when you see that koi swimming around!
And there were many variants of colors, and of course I received a professional explanation, with names of all types, but I have to admit that I don't remember much about it.
For those who want to know a bit more about koi, I recommend checking out the wiki page about it, just as I did! :-)
I hope you enjoyed some of the photos. Thanks for reading my article.
Have a nice Sunday everyone!
