What is aloe?
Aloe vera or 'aloe vera' is one of the 250 known species of aloe in the world and grows mainly in deserts and semi-desert areas. With long, fleshy leaves, it contains a potent gel that, as we shall see, is used especially in cosmetic products.
Although its origin is not entirely clear, today the plant can be found (both cultivated and feral) mainly in North Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the Mediterranean, Madeira, Cape Verde and the Canary Islands.
Its scientific name is 'Aloe Barbandensis' and it differs from other types of aloe by its high production of gel, a real treasure for cosmetics.
Benefits of aloe vera
Aloe vera regulates the pH of the digestive system avoiding conditions such as ulcers, slow digestion or stomach heaviness. Also, in some cases, by applying a gel on the sore spot, headaches disappear.
On the other hand, experts emphasize that inhaling the vapors of boiling aloe vera leaves improves the breathing of people suffering from asthma, bronchitis, colds or colds and is also used to relieve the symptoms of diseases such as osteoarthritis or arthritis.
The best known use of aloe is for the treatment of acne, as it allows the tissues to regenerate from the inside out, absorbing excess oil.
Aloe vera is perfect after shaving, as it brings freshness and regenerates quickly. During depilation, it prevents rashes, pimples or redness caused by the razor or wax.
Aloe vera is one of the best cell regenerators due to the allantoin it contains. Therefore, its use helps to heal a wound faster and reduce scars.

El aloe vera o "sábila" es una de las 250 especies de aloe conocidas en el mundo y crece principalmente en zonas desérticas y semidesérticas. De hojas largas y carnosas, contiene un potente gel que, como veremos, se utiliza especialmente en productos cosméticos.
Aunque su origen no está del todo claro, hoy en día la planta se encuentra (tanto cultivada como asilvestrada) principalmente en el norte de África, Oriente Medio, Asia, el Mediterráneo, Madeira, Cabo Verde y las Islas Canarias.
Su nombre científico es "Aloe Barbandensis" y se diferencia de otros tipos de aloe por su elevada producción de gel, un verdadero tesoro para la cosmética.
Beneficios del aloe vera
El aloe vera regula el pH del aparato digestivo evitando afecciones como úlceras, digestiones lentas o pesadez estomacal. También, en algunos casos, aplicando un gel sobre el punto de dolor desaparecen los dolores de cabeza.
Por otro lado, los expertos recalcan que inhalar los vapores de hojas de aloe vera hirviendo mejora la respiración de las personas que padecen asma, bronquitis, resfriados o catarros y también se emplea para el alivio de los síntomas de enfermedades como la artrosis o la artritis.
El uso más conocido del aloe es para el tratamiento del acné, ya que permite regenerar los tejidos desde el interior hacia el exterior, absorbiendo el exceso de grasa.
El aloe vera es perfecto después del afeitado, ya que aporta frescura y regenera rápidamente. En la depilación, evita las erupciones, granitos o rojeces que salen como consecuencia de la cuchilla o la cera.
El aloe vera es de de los mejores regeneradores celulares debido a la alantoína que posee. Por ello, su uso ayuda a curar una herida más rápido y a reducir las cicatrices.
Ayuda con las picaduras de insectos. En estas situaciones, el aloe es un gran aliado, ya que alivia de forma inmediata y ayuda a reducir la inflamación.
