A touch of Tuscany in Hungary: Sukoró-Velence-Nadap 1.

in WE ARE MOVING4 years ago (edited)

Right in the middle of Europe is a small country, Hungary, where yet very diverse regions alternate. The southern side of the mountains is warm and largely dry, with summers running from May to October. Velence Mountains is in the north from Lake Velence, where I used to hike a lot. The landscape is a bit similar to Balaton Uplands, but the granite mountains are much older (cca 300 million yrs), than the volcanic cones of Balaton Uplands (4-2 million yrs). I started my walk in Sukoró, I planned to go to Nadap, but I could only get there with a big detour. It is characteristic of this village that it has very long streets and nowhere is a cross street. Only dead ends everywhere ... They built up the area too much and took huge areas away from nature to build luxury villas for wealthy families moving here from Budapest. Unfortunately, very few houses have remained in their original form, but at least they are taken care of. Well, despite the little inconvenience, I spent a beautiful day in this countryside.
