The animal world surprises us with the unusual behaviors that characterize each species, this edition deals with the strange instincts that come from the mothers of nature. Animals that help their young in an interesting and peculiar way.
Enigmatic maternal instinct
The first mother comes from Africa, but is known worldwide for being the largest of the birds, it is only surpassed in size by the male of its own species, the ostrich (Struthio camelus), although it cannot fly, it is an excellent runner and considered a dominant mother.

The male of this species is polygamous and is involved with up to 5 females, but normally he shares his love life with three, the interesting thing is that only one of them is considered the main female, the one in charge of incubating their eggs and those of their colleagues, each female can lay up to 15 eggs that can weigh up to 1.4 kg, this mother will protect all the eggs, however, she will have a preference for her own, always placing them in the center to leave the eggs that are not hers around the nest, a smart decision .
If a predator wants to steal one of the eggs, it will go with the one that surrounds the perimeter, in this way the mother ostrich will ensure that her descendants are always safe.
On the other hand, we have a less affective mother in the way of raising her chicks, the golden eagle, also known as the caudal eagle (Aquila chrysaetos)
This species, unlike ostriches, is monogamous, therefore, the family is composed only of the male and the female for life, another inequality in the case of these two species is that the female eagle is larger and more heavier than the male.
Returning to the topic, why is this mother one of the most unusual in the animal world?

This bird lays one or two eggs, but when they hatch, normally only one of the chicks survives, this is because the first to break the shell is the first to be fed, therefore, it will be the strongest of the chicks.
The second to hatch dies of hunger and this is where the mother shows her coldness and lack of understanding.
When the weakest one dies, the mother commits one of the cruelest actions that can exist, cannibalism, feeding the survivor with pieces of her deceased son. You have no feelings when it comes to survival.
The behaviors, appearances and capacities of the species that inhabit this planet are incredibly diverse and there are many interesting things that we can find that we still don't know about animal life.
Until the next edition. @nickomax25
