One of the favorite and very beautiful birds is the red heron, or better known as the flamingo.
Probably reading some Russian fairy tales, you may have come across those where the bird of fire is mentioned. You may have thought at the time that these birds are imaginary creatures that conjure up every fairy tale, like fairies or some unreal creatures, that can only appear when the imagination is set in motion. However, the zeal of birds really exists and lives not only in Africa, but also across Europe, and today we can meet this bird in every zoo.
My visit to the zoo, I was amazed by the beauty of these wonderful birds in pink shades, in the sun as if they have sequins, so their colors overflow. The flamingo has a lush appearance, but for some it will still remain just a pink bird.
Its very appearance is unique, with long and slender legs, a long neck, a black beak that bends to their maturity and a beautiful pink prairie that covers this unique bird.
As for their beautiful color, they get it by feeding on algae.
Flamingos often occupy interesting positions, as if playing ballet I did not wait long to be able to photograph this scene. The bird simply dives like a ballerina, hiding its head in its back, at the same time pressing one leg against its body, and standing on the other, sleeping in that position is an interesting example, unlike others who sleep on a branch of a tree or in its nest.
Here is the legend associated with this pink bird:
There is an old legend, which proves why this bird is exactly this color, it happened in Africa a long time ago (otherwise this bird lives in areas of Africa).
Africa was in a drought, various diseases began to reign, and food was running out. Death threatened everyone and moved from door to door.
There was a lake nearby, where flamingos lived, the lake was salty and it was not very helpful to people.
One flamingo, returning from his flight, realized that people were dying. The birds wanted to help the people, to save them, they tore their meat with their beaks and fed the children.
The blood that flowed from their bodies washed away their feathers, which were otherwise white. drought stopped a lot of children were saved. The flamingos flew away, but a year later when they returned their feathers were still the same, dotted with pink tones.
The beautiful color field became an award for humanitarian birds, as well as a reminder to people of the brave flamingos.
In essence, these birds are beautiful, but their interesting abilities to withstand difficult natural conditions are not pretentious.
