THREE HORNED SHEEP SKULL

in WE ARE MOVING3 years ago

What a crazy creature!

Our four horned Jacob's Sheep are a peculiar breed of sheep. that are polycerate. Polycerate means that they have multiple pairs of horns. Four horns is common, but six is possible. Technically, this young ram had six horns, they just grew together and fused into three, lending to his nickname "Tre."

For some reason many people who see our Jacob's Sheep think that they are goats. Have you ever seen sheep with three, four, five or six horns? A lot of people like them as exotics and we've seen some advertised as "oddities" at various zoos or petting zoos before. Here's some more photos of this 3-horned ram's skull. Enjoy!

Is that real?

I imagine it was due to a genetic disorder that the sheep had. This is the first time in my life that I have seen an animal that has more than two horns.

Now that's cool!

Interestingly, I have never seen such a head - skull ;))
