Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 107

in WE ARE MOVING3 years ago

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

Welcome to the 107th round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)

I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.

The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.

The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)

Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.

I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:

Only one entry (photo) per person per round.

The photo must be yours and not older than one week.

Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.

You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round.

Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. As long as the response is not too overwhelming, I will also try to give some smaller upvotes on all of the other entries to reward all participants.

I might change the concept and/or the rules of the photo challenge later on, depending on how things go. I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)

To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:

I´m sorry to post this round on Friday and not of Thursday as I usually do but I really felt the urge to share my unexpected and very emotional experience with the Ukrainian refugees yesterday. So here is my contribution to the new round. A landscape shot taken by me while walking my mum´s doggie here in the rural part of the Moravian - Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It was a nice and sunny (yet quite chilly day) yesterday and it was good to spend some quality time in nature. Today, however, it looks very different here as it was snowing heavily during the night and everything is covered with a decent layer of snow now.

In the last round, we had 5 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

Congrats to all winners, well done !! Lovely shot too @phortun. I can't stop reading news about Ukraine each day. It's sad to see this happening nowadays. I have entered the picture below. I just took it today when I walked around Tuyen Lam Lake with my friend in Da Lat, Vietnam. Having left my city a few days ago, I am currently enjoying the scenery and weather in Da Lat since it has been cloudy and rainy in Da Nang. Hope you're having a great weekend there. :)

My entry: Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 106. Spring is announced, and these flowers are among the first to bloom regardless of the cold nights ... As soon as the sun fences, they open their petals... They sprout even under a thick layer of leaves .... This blue flower is a Two-leaf squill (Scilla bifolia) It is known to us as a wild hyacinth ... I took this photo last Thursday when the sun warmed up nicely. And the place is the Vršac Mountains above the town of Vršac (Banat, Serbia).

For the new round I'm submitting this photo of a blackbird in my backyard I shot just this morning. The population of blackbirds here in the Netherlands has decreased by 30% in the past few years. This is mainly because a lot of people completely pave their backyards nowadays leaving almost no place for insects. I keep a large part of my backyard open and feed the birds to help them through the winter.

Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)

I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.

Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!

Hi @phortun,

I am sharing my photo from Sunday hike trip in Beskydy mountains. There was quite a lot of snow in the forest, everything was calm and silent. I have chosen this photo as the sun rays are adding a bit of optimism to the whole scenery.

Moc pěkná momentka, skoro až umělecká. Díky ;)

this is my first time entering this nice contest. i go often for walks along the coast when i get a chance. last week i had a couple of days of work and the weather was cool and sunny. the photo was taken march 3 in brunlanes on the south coast of norway.

Hey there, welcome to the challenge! :) Thanks for this amazing entry, I think this is the first time we are having an entry from Norway here :) Love it, thanks.

Ventured outside again for a change. Last week Tuesday I rode south of Patras again. Spring was in the air & near Monodendri I found this:

img_7157_3000_80_vsshko.jpg

Probably some species of Muscari, couldn't find out which one exactly. There were bees around collecting nectar from the lower flowers, so they don't get much bigger or open up more.

Sadly, this week spring has left the building. It's supposed to go below 10°C again. So I'm not sure whether I'll go out this week. (I'm anyway a bit pre-occupied with the Ukraine war.)

Hey there, good to see you here again, this time with this beautiful flower close up :) Love the colors and the detail, thank you!

Thanks for the appreciation @phortun

This is my entry for this week; a field of daffodils I photographed just yesterday. Spring is arring here in The Netherlands!

Wow, it looks like spring is already in full swing over there! Beautiful scene, thank you :)

Hi @phortun, I want to share a photo taken this Wednesday when I went for a walk in the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. Just fall in love with the green atmosphere inside the campus so much.

Hi @phortun, I want to share a photo taken last Sunday when I went for a walk at Bo Bo forest in Quang Nam, Viet Nam. I saw a lot of dry pine on the ground and I picked one up to took this picture.

Happy weekend to all. This is my entry of the week, a beautiful view of a building in the east of the city of Caracas, Venezuela. I really don't know what it is, it looks like an abandoned religious structure or house, I was struck by the beauty of these flowering wild plants. This image was made last Sunday during a short walk around the city with some friends!

Interesting capture, thank you :) It has been a while since we had an entry from Venezuela here...

Hello, my dear friend, @phortun!
I have time today and I thought I would send you a photo I thought was the most beautiful.
The photo was taken last fall on a nice sunny day.
We walked the dogs on a high hill and there I discovered them in the grass.
I was lying on my stomach on the grass so I could take a nice close-up photo of it.
I can do anything for a nice photo.
This is one of my favorite wildflowers.
Not only is the color beautiful, but the petals are also very charming.
I hope you like it too!

Greetings from Hungary.
Greeting!

Hi Juditka! Thank you very much for taking your time to share this beautiful photo with us :) However, I can see you took it last year but this challenge is about sharing fresh photos that are not older than 7 days so please remember this next time ;) The point of this challenge is go out to nature and appreciate its beauty regularly, as often as possible :) Greetings from Poland to Hungary!

Hello, my dear friend, @phortun, I apologize, I was careless!

Then here is a cute field flower for you, I took this photo yesterday.
I don’t know what the name of this flower is, it usually grows a lot in one place.
The blue flower is very rare, which is why I love it.
The photo was taken in the field while walking the dogs yesterday afternoon.

Hey there, welcome to the challenge :) That´s a very nice capture. Next time, however, please make sure to include the location too ;) Doesn´t have to be too specific, just the country and / or region would be fine...

thanks, I forgot to mention it. It is the south region of Norway.

After 3 weeks of heavy rain just about all over Australia flooding peoples houses and washing away everything else in it's path has left many states of Australia totally devastated and in some states the rain is still continuing but in Byron Bay this morning we finally saw blue sky and the sun after 3 weeks what a relief to see that rain go away and the mass clean ups start around the country so sad to see.

byronbay_1u.jpg

I am sorry to hear about the floods, I didn´t even know about it :( Our media rarely cover anything else than the war in Ukraine these days... Thanks for your entry and for the info. Stay strong guys.

Thank you for your concern @phortun it's gotten better the rain has finally moved on but has left a trail of damage luckily our house is all good.

Hope they can end that war soon it just doesn't make sense in this day and age. Take care buddy 👍

The nature of the Czech Republic is similar to Ukraine. Appreciate the peaceful sky above you!

I did actually. I did realize and appreciate the simple fact that there were no war planes in the blue sky above me. And it´s heartbreaking to know that just a few hundred kilometers from here, there are... :(

The flower is looking so wonderful. Its colour so amazing. Birds also looking so beautiful.

Thanks for your feedback, I am glad you approve of my picks :)

Congratulations to the winners! 🎉🎉🎉

Thanks for checking out the winning shots :) I will see you in the new round.
