Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!
Welcome to the 108th round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)
I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.
The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.
The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)
Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.
I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:
Only one entry (photo) per person per round.
The photo must be yours and not older than one week.
Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.
You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round.
Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. As long as the response is not too overwhelming, I will also try to give some smaller upvotes on all of the other entries to reward all participants.
I might change the concept and/or the rules of the photo challenge later on, depending on how things go. I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)
To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:
Two weeks ago in this challenge, I shared the first snowdrops with you and today, I am coming with another flower close up as the Central European flora keeps awakening from the winter sleep. I´m not really sure about the particular species (maybe the crocus?) but I couldn´t stop looking at these beautiful flowers today :) Photo taken in the Krakowski Park here in Krakow, Poland just a few hours ago. Looks like the spring arrived early this year. Not an issue for me at all :)
In the last round, we had 10 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

This is my first time entering this nice contest. I go often for walks along the coast when I get a chance. The last week I had a couple of days of work and the weather was cool and sunny. The photo was taken on March 3 in Brunlanes on the southern coast of Norway.

Hi @phortun, I am sharing my photo from Sunday hike trip in the Beskydy Mountains, Czech Republic. There was quite a lot of snow in the forest, everything was calm and silent. I have chosen this photo as the sun rays are adding a bit of optimism to the whole scenery.

Ventured outside again for a change. Last week Tuesday I rode south of Patras, Greece again. Spring was in the air & near Monodendri I found this. Probably some species of Muscari, couldn't find out which one exactly. There were bees around collecting nectar from the lower flowers, so they don't get much bigger or open up more. Sadly, this week spring has left the building. It's supposed to go below 10°C again. So I'm not sure whether I'll go out this week. (I'm anyway a bit pre-occupied with the Ukraine war).
Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)
I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.
Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!
I post this series in the Amazing Nature community, a great community for all nature lovers. Feel free to check it out ;)
My entry from Serbia, Banat
Blue sky, gray began to turn green .... A breath of spring in the air .....
Positive energy fills me on a walk along the Vršac hill ..... I used a sunny day to socialize with nature .... watching everything slowly wake up ...
Beautiful scene, thank you :) Here in Poland, the trees are starting to sprout too :) When did you take this nice picture?
My pleasure @phortun 🌼
Spring is coming ☀️
Vršac hill above the town of Vršac...
The path leads to the Mountain Lodge ...
Have a nice evening ✨
I know, I was asking about the date :) To make sure it´s not older than 7 days. Thanks!
😊
Welcome 🌼
Hello community. This is my entry for this week's challenge. It's a photo I took a few days ago in the town of Tigre, province of Buenos Aires. It was a sunny day and I found these flowers very beautiful. In these latitudes it is still summer, although autumn will soon arrive, so soon these flowers will disappear, to be reborn in a few months.
Until next time and I hope you like it!
Hey there, welcome to the challenge! Thanks for this great entry :)
Gracias
Here is my entry for this week. I´m doing a rod trip in south africa at the moment and came across this beach yesterday. Grotto Beach in Hermanus. I had no idea that they have such beautiful beaches. Unfortunately the water is full of great white sharks, so no surfing for me.
Oh my! I didn´t know this either. So beautiful, so pristine... Thanks man :)
Thank you. I´m blown away from all the stuff I´ve seen in the past two days. South Africa is so worth a visit. You should go if you haven´t been there already.
wow! How beautiful that place looks like a postcard, thanks for sharing!!
thanks for stopping and commenting. glad you like it
Hi @phortun
I took this photo today. An unexpected heavy snow in March after years.
Location: Istanbul
Unexpected sight in Turkey indeed :) Thanks for sharing this unique picture with us.
Hi, this is a photo I took in the grounds of a Dong Cuong-Hai Hau church that I visited on a Tuesday afternoon, I like it because there is a bit of a contrast between the subjects. A rough stone rockery and straight lines of areca trees behind
Looks like a troll with a particularly big nose.
I can see it now too! :D
Thanks for your entry, very interesting composition :)
Congratulations to the winners.
No pamatuju taky jeden komentář o Mt. Everestu... :D
❤️
Počkej, to jako vážně? :D :O

Thanks :) Feel free to join the new round.
You're welcome. Sounds like a lot of fun.
Congrats to winners. It has been snowing here, I may take a photo of it again :)
What? Snowing in Turkey in mid March? :D Crazy...
Yea, after years.
Thank you!
Seems like Poland is just as warm (well...) as Greece in the moment, maybe even warmer.
Well, it´s been sunny but still freezing in the night, was actually minus 8 C here last night :D :/
Well, I stand corrected. At least for the nights. Nowhere near that low here, barely touching zero at the worst of times.
