Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 61

in WE ARE MOVING4 years ago

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

Welcome to the 61st round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)

I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.

The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.

The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)

Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.

I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:

Only one entry (photo) per person per round.

The photo must be yours and not older than one week.

Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.

You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round.

Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. As long as the response is not too overwhelming, I will also try to give some smaller upvotes on all of the other entries to reward all participants.

I might change the concept and/or the rules of the photo challenge later on, depending on how things go. I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)

To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:

A couple of days ago, we visited the Ojcow National Park, a small but beautiful national park located just outside of Krakow, Poland. I took a lot of interesting photos there and I am going to make a post about this captivating place that is particularly known for astonishing rock formations soon but for now, let me just share this close up shot of the common toad that greeted us just before the entrance to the park :) I hope you find this little curious fella cute and not ugly as many people tend to do :D

In the last round, we had 10 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

Sorry for having missed the last editions, but - well - although the weather was good, my sleep was not. So, rather than cycling I stayed at home & did ... nothing. But yesterday afternoon I found enough energy to ride my bike for a few hours. No spectacular results (& I didn't find what I was actually looking for), but something nice here & there. Breaking through. The bud of a crown daisy (Glebionis coronaria) blossom, shortly before it opens. Found somewhere in the hills south of Patras, Greece.

Felt good to visit the park by the evening and have little cactus, rocks an palms trees clicked. They were very aesthetically appealing. I took it yesterday's evening at Lodhi Garden, New Delhi, India :)

Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)

I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.

Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!

Wow. These entries are amazing...!! It's a great shot of this cute friend @phortun !!!
My entry for this round 🙂. The pic was taken yesterday (by Xiaomi) while a friend & I had a little trek down from Hai Van Pass to Vom Bridge here, Da Nang, Viet Nam. I was told that the old bridge was built more than 100 years ago by the French. I will do a research and have a post about this place soon. Standing on the bridge, I was extremely surrounded by the spectacular nature of mountain and forest trees. There are little streams and huge rocks under the bridge. I walked down and sat on the rock for a couple of hours to chill before it gets dark.

image.png

Great shot! The tiny people under the bridge gives a perspective of how big the structure actually is. Very impressive, thanks for your entry Trang :)

Awesome shot, @trangbaby! I love how the lushness hugs the bridge!

Aww thanks dear @dswigle, it's really a green landscape.

Another angle ~~View taken from the bridge :)

Wow! It truly is an amazing place!

Wow . These shots are just stunning. As a person who loves traveling, nature and animals,i always try to capture things related to these, when i am given the opportunity. This shot was taken by me a couple of days ago, when i spotted this mysterious insect in my cherry plant in the backyard. I dont know what this creature is , but i think it is beautiful and unique . If u truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere.

I spotted this insect in my cherry plant, when i went to water it .

Ok but by location, I mean city or region or at least country :) Thanks ;)

Sorry, the location is Idukki in the state of Kerala, India.

I never saw such an insect anywhere. From where did you find it?

Congratulations to all the winners! You have your work cut out for you with these great photos! I am on the run this week, but I have a small shot for you. :)) It is a shot of one of my favorite early spring flowers called hellebores. They are different and continue to grow each year.

These were taken this weekend in my personal garden, located in the Washington, DC metro area.

Oh wow, these are beautiful! What a lovely close up. Can you just add where and when you took it please?

Sorry about that! Of course! :))

Thank you!
& unbelievably, I was out again, on Tuesday, only 4 days after my last outing. My procrastination seems to be slowly breaking down.
Got a lot of nice macro shots, but I decided on this one:

Which is not macro, but taken with a tele zoom lens in 200mm. I like it because of the colour composition & the bokeh.
I was actually after some kind of black bee near the Glafkos 'River' in Patras, when this butterfly (probably some kind of cabbage butterfly landed near me.

Glad to have your entry here again, very nice close up :) Thanks!

Wow, great shot :) lovely butterfly :

Thanks!

Bringing you another beautiful sunset from my home town of Byron Bay Beach yesterday afternoon been Tuesday, taking a jog along the beach I took a different path then usual and I came across this lonely old dead tree it look liked as someone had just placed this tree there in the middle of no where it looked very picturesque so I decided to take advantage of this usual dead tree and used it in my photoshoot with this amazing sunset in the background.

Happy start to the week @phortun and to all the participants. This is my entry, on Friday on a walk through a nearby area of Porlamar Isla de Margarita Vezuela I saw these spectacular cacti, they caught my attention because they were so aligned with each other, as if someone had planted them, my explanation! how amazing nature is.
