Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 81

in WE ARE MOVING3 years ago

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

Welcome to the 81st round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)

I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.

The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.

The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)

Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.

I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:

Only one entry (photo) per person per round.

The photo must be yours and not older than one week.

Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.

You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round.

Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. As long as the response is not too overwhelming, I will also try to give some smaller upvotes on all of the other entries to reward all participants.

I might change the concept and/or the rules of the photo challenge later on, depending on how things go. I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)

To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:

After a couple of very cold and rainy days, we finally got some sunshine again today here in Krakow, Poland. I took advantage of the nice weather to go for a short morning walk around the Jordan Park where I also snapped this random shot of trees and a little grass covered hill. A morning walk in a park is a great and pleasant way to start the day. There were just a few people with their dogs and a bunch of school kids having their physical education lesson in the fresh air.

In the last round, we had 8 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

Hi everybody, this photograph, it was taken on August 24 this year in my home town, Ha Tinh, Viet Nam. I drove my motobike when the sun was going down. So I pulled my camera out and snapped a shot. It is awesome to have a moment like this.

This is my participation of the week with yesterday's faint sunset threatened by a storm that arrived moments later on the beach Naiguata-Vargas Venezuela, not allowing to get a more colorful one and thus the beach day ended without a dip due to the strong waves! LOL.

The heat waves seem to be over, but still I mostly just stay at home. Monday, though, I had to go to a courier service to pick up my new credit card. Since the office is close to the coast, I took the chance & some pictures. Here's one. Orange kitten in orange sunset. Only partially nature, since it is a domesticated cat on a wall, but looks nice. Taken at the central sea promenade of Patras, Greece. There are lots of cats at that part of the coast, because people built some small cat houses there & feed the cats. Not really good for nature, in my opinion. At least to me, it seems there are fewer songbirds than before. Not the cats' fault, though.

Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)

I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.

Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!

Today, after more than 20 days of lockdown I can get out of my house and walk around and take some photos. This is my entry. It was taken at 3pm today in Da Nang
Thanks my team leader @trangbay for letting me know this contest 😀

Superb capture ❤️

Wow! Stunning close up. Thanks! I am glad you found your way to this challenge :)

Hi @phortun, here is my entry for this week. This is the first daffodil flower blooming in my garden today, photo was taken when I went back home (in Balclutha, New Zealand) from work. It really cheered up the rest of my day.

Hahaa do it have pink colour?

haha no sis, I only see the yellow and white one.

Lovely close up, thanks! :)

Hai @phortun, its been a while i participated in this amazing challenge. For this round i would like to share a pic that i took with my phone yesterday. Its the photo of Munnar tea plantation in Pallivasal, Munnar, India. My company cottage is just 5 min walk from here .

The lush green tea plants are so refreshing

Hey buddy! Good to see you here again after a while :) Awesome scenery, thanks!

Thanks again!
Always think, tomorrow I'll go cycling again, but it never happens. At least on Friday I went into the hills for a short while before shopping, but didn't find much to take photos of beyond some small flowers. While concentrating on the flowers I stepped onto an ant street by accident:
img_5523_3000_80_vssh.jpg

The picture itself is also an accident. Wanted to get some ants carrying eggs or larvae. Since I couldn't see what I was doing with the camera so close to the ground, I got a lot of noise. But in this case the noise is a nicely coloured composition of dead leaves & dried grass.
Found in the hills at the foot of the Panachaiko mountain range to the east of Patras.

Very nice and creative capture, it has a sort of artsy feel to it :) Thank you very much for another great entry. Cheers to Greece!

I captured this wonderful picture while driving on the highway on an official tour.

I've always been a little more nature lover, especially the eye-catching natural beauty.

Thanks for your entry. Please add the location and the date.

I don't remember the exact date, but this picture was taken last week.Location: From Dhaka, Rajshahi, Bangladesh.

Here is my entry: A simple shot, a pine tree after the rain from hurricane Ida. Everything got a good soaking, but, we got negligible damage. That is always good news! Of course, we weren't in the direct path and only got the remnants of it. This was taken on Monday, August 30th in McLean, Virginia.

I'm so sorry to hear about the hurricane Ida. I hope you stay safe.
Love your shot, spectacular as always :0

Thank you! You are so kind and thoughtful. I fared well, considering and it has passed. We had a bonfire with the branches and limbs and lost power. Everything else went okay. Thank you! 💕

@phortun Here is my entry. Today, I took this photo from my garden. It is the rainy season now in my area Galle, Sri Lanka. I think even those little things in nature can calm our minds. This raindrop seems like Pearls. But I think this raindrop value rather than a Pearl. Because a little raindrop can control the balance of biodiversity.

Thank you for this beautiful close up and very wise and inspiring description :)

Lovely shot. Love the raindrop :)

Thank you so much @trangbaby

Hi @phortun, thank you so much for the mention! This is my participation of the week, a cute orange butterfly posing on a leaf in the garden of the residences captured yesterday, Caracas Venezuela.

Hoja y nara.jpg

Amazing close up, thanks :)

Really a cool shot and yes, the butterfly is pretty 🤩😍

Hi @trangbaby, thanks for reading and commenting on me. Have a happy week

This afternoon I go to the rubber tree forest near my house, Huong Khe, Viet Nam. When the golden hour hits, I take this photo and it looks amazing. Here is my entry
dscf9432_1_.jpg

Great shot, I love the mysterious atmosphere of it :) Can you just add the location please?

Done. Thank you for remind me

Fantastic shot em. ♥️ It makes me think of somewhere ghostly and mysterious 🙂

Beautiful capture and stunning landscape, i@phortun :) The area is lush and green

I'm back with a shot of the butterfly pea flower in the garden after the rain, it was taken last week :) I'm not sure you've heard about this flower before. Besides being used as food colours, the flowers have many other applications that are beneficial for the body, and I guess you might be interested :)

image.png

Oh yea, the garden still at the same place, Da Nang 🙂

Yay, Trang is back! :) Happy to see you here again. No, I think haven´t heard of this plant yet but it´s beautiful. Thanks for your entry, I am glad you could finally leave your apartment again ;)

I'm just able to walk around my neighbourhood only :) but it's fine. Things getting better soon :)

WOW...It really has expanded here you have got your hands full now well, I am going to make it even more difficult for you, I remembered not to forget this week 😊
This was my walk through the jungle of Byron Bay last Sunday morning high up on the edge cliffs of the coastline through all them secret dirt pathways not knowing where you going to end up, I love them unknown journeys 🤣

byronbay_119u.jpg

Yeah, cannot complain about low participation lately haha :D I guess the rise in Hive price has been a factor too... But you are a mainstay and I thank you for yet another beautiful entry ;)

Thanks buddy and yep I would say the hive hike has bought more attention to this platform all the better 👍

Wow .... we two have a lot in common mate...

Haha...do think we might have that's cool 👍

I too love unknown journeys especially when jungle is involved

They are the best it's like going through a maze 👍

Hi @phortun , thank you for creating this post. Here is my entry.
I took this picture on my grandpa's death anniversary in my hometown Quang Nam, Viet Nam. While helping my mother cook some food, I saw the chicken in her nest. Initially, she tried to spread her wings to hide the eggs, but later maybe she was tired of her swings, so she moved all her body and exposed the eggs.

con gà.jpg

😂😂😂😂

The chicken is looking at you, @trangbaby
Stop laughing at her :)

I'm not sure the chicken is right for nature's appreciation but I'm impressed by your entry and I can't stop laughing when I see her...
What a cute 🤩

Thanks for all the engagement in this round, I really appreciate it and I am sure the other participants too ;)

My pleasure @phortun, you know I will come by when possible :)

By the way, this picture was taken 3 days ago

Hey there, welcome to the challenge :) Interesting photo and story, thanks!

I love this idea. Thank you @phortun. I don't have a good camera so sometimes I think my nature photos don't look good. But thanks to your contest, I realise it's good to just show nature in it true color. Below are my entry - a photo of Daisies. It was taken on my Saturday afternoon walk near my building in the Wellington City centre. I really admire the beauty of this flower. Every time I see them, I have to knee down to see it clearer. They are tiny but resilient. I see it blooming all year round in every condition.

Hi Dora, I am happy to see you in the challenge :) Daisies are beautiful indeed, thanks for this cute shot. You mean Wellington in New Zealand? Wow :)

Thank you :) Yes you are right, it's Wellington, NZ. It's easy to find wild flowers, I mean it's everywhere here. Daisies, dandelion, pansy, poppy flowers, and more - I dont know their names. It is one of the many reasons that I am in love with this city.

Thanks for your entry. Please, if you create a separate post with your entry (which is not necessary btw), make sure to include both the photo and the description here in the comment too ;)

Here is my entry:

Always beautiful entries and winners. Mother Nature does beauty the very best! I have to agree with the cats and the coastal towns seem to have more than their share of them. I always thought they were feeding on seafood. :) But, when I was in Puerto Rico, I saw a random lady sprinkling cat food along the rocky area near the wharf.

Oh! It is like feeding birds and they stop migrating, upsetting the pattern of nature.

Thank you very much for your visit and valuable feedback Denise. You are right. I mean both of you and @bossel. We knnow that those people probably do it with good intentions but in fact, they are interfering with the natural order. On such a small scale though, it shouldn´t be that harmful...

Btw, thanks for your lovely entry below. Can you just add the location and date please?

Sorry! I'll edit it in! Thanks!

Thank you very much :) Have an amazing weekend.

Thank you so much for the winning place. I can't wait to go out to nature and join this contest again.

You are very welcome :) I am looking forward to another stunning entry from you.
