A Rare Snowy Day in St.Louis Missouri

in WE ARE MOVING4 years ago (edited)

Here on the western bank of the Mississippi River lies the second largest city in Missouri. We don't get a lot of snow fall during the winter, as does to the north of us. The snow fall for the month of January can average from 7 inches to 0.8 inches. This year we will be on the very low end being that this is the first true snow we have had this season.
Many of the birds and squirrels that I love to photograph were hiding away this morning during the big snowfall. I got out and captured a few of them.

This is a male House Finch

And my favorite a Grey Squirrel hiding under a bush.

The snow created a very nice background for your natural shots :) Beautiful.

Impressive photos. The snow seem unrelenting. Wrist lens did you use?

I used my cannon zoom lens EF 75-300mm, Thank you!

Wow, they must be really far off

not really they are about 50 yards maybe a little more, I am on my porch taking pictures while they are at the feeder or tree. The lens just lets me get a good close up picture that is clear.

Yes, of course I understand. Its really impressive to be honest.

Thank you so much for the feedback 😊
