This week, I wanted to share a few photos from my most recent nature walk. One of the things that amazes me about the natural world is that I can return to familiar places yet continue to be surprised by by what I find time and time again.
On this most recent walk, I made my way along a short trail that rings a local lake. It's a trail that I have taken several times over the previous few months and has been a reliable site for spotting migratory bird as they stop to rest on and by the water. While this would normally involve me camping out along the water's edge to catch these birds at rest and in flight on and above the lake, this time, my attention was instead diverted to to the activity in the woods.
With the coming of Spring, life has returned in full force to the forest floor, offering me plenty of opportunities to get photos of the resident wildlife up close and personal. Here are a few photos of the animals and wildflowers that I encountered while on my walk.
Feel free to offer your suggestions if you believe I have misidentified anything! Enjoy!
