Hello Hive naturalists🌳, today I come to show you the curious visitors I found in the forest during an outdoor camping trip in a biosphere reserve.🍃

Beautiful gallery forest with countless species of timber trees🌳 adorn the landscape along the Biosphere Reserve🦌 Sierra del Rosario located in the western part of the island of Cuba.
Hermoso bosque galería con un sinfín de especies de arboles🌳 maderables adornan el paisaje a lo lago de la Reserva de la Biosfera🦌 Sierra del Rosario perteneciente al occidente de la isla de Cuba.
Walking along the edges of a river💦, I found several interesting plants: a moss that grows on the walls of the riverbank, creating a favorable ecosystem for many insects; a seed🌱 from a climbing shrub called bull’s eye due to its similar shape; and finally, a beautiful miniature flower🌼 less than a centimeter in size that delicately adorns the humid landscape🖼️.
Caminando por los bordes de un río encontré varias plantas interesantes, un musgo que crece en las paredes del borde del río el cual genera un ecosistema favorable para muchos insectos, una semilla de un arbusto enredadera llamado ojo de buey o Bull eye debido a su forma similar y por ultimo una hermosa flor🌼 miniatura que no llega al centímetro de tamaño que adorna con delicadeza el húmedo paisaje🖼️.
The land is devoured by a plant🎑 known as malagueta, which engulfs and entangles everything in its path in search of higher places where it can obtain more sunlight☀️.
El terreno es devorado por una planta🎑 conocida como malagueta la cual engulle y enreda todo a su paso en busca de lugares altos donde pueda obtener mayor luz solar☀️
Small red flowers🌹 fall from the treetops, covering the ground with a beautiful red carpet that welcomes those who pass through these places.
Pequeñas flores rojas🌹 caen desde las copas de los arboles cubriendo los suelos de una hermosa alfombra roja que recibe a quien transita dichos parajes.
Dandelions grow around, waiting for the air currents🌬️ to disperse their seeds🌱 and start a new generation that will preserve the views.
Dientes de león crecen alrededor esperando las corrientes de aire🌬️ para esparcir sus semillas🌱 y comenzar con una nueva generación que conservaran las vistas.
To conclude with the flora, we found this beautiful flower known as mariposa or butterfly🦋, endemic to Cuba. It is the national flower, which was used during the Mambí war🔪 to hide messages within its petals.
Para terminar con la flora, encontramos esta hermosa flor conocida como mariposa o butterfly🦋, endémica de Cuba, es la flor nacional, la cual sirvió en los tiempos de guerra🔪 mambí para ocultar mensajes dentro de sus pétalos.
Wildlife 🦌 Fauna
The little Cuban toad🐸 guides us with its curious song🎵 through the humid forest trails, announcing the proximity of the river. It is a useful signal when we walk through the forests🌲.
El pequeño sapito🐸 cubano nos guía con su curioso cantar🎵 a través de senderos húmedos del bosque anunciando las cercanías del río, es una señal útil cuando recorremos los bosques🌲.
In the waters💦 of the river, we found a species of freshwater snail🐌. It feeds on areas with accumulated debris, such as rocks🗿 or the surface of the roots of trees that grow in the water.
En las aguas💦 del río encontramos una especie de caracol🐌 de agua dulce, se alimenta de los lugares con acumulación de residuos como las rocas🗿 o la superficie de las raíces de los arboles que crecen en el agua.
A young gargarizans toad, better known as the gangarria toad🐸, visited my tent at night, attracted by the insects🦟 that approached the stealthy lights of my camp⛺. With very striking colors, it is an extremely difficult to see toad📸, mostly found in protected reserves.
Una cría de sapo gargarizans, más conocido como sapo gangarria🐸 visitó mi tienda de noche atraído por los insectos🦟 que se acercaban a las luces furtivas de mi campamento⛺. Con colores muy llamativos es un sapo en extremo difícil de ver📸, solo encontrado mayormente en las reservas protegidas.
Lastly, and as an example that work does not stop regardless of the situation, we found red ants🐜, known as bibijaguas, which were in the process of rebuilding their colony. After the heavy rains🌧️, the colony was destroyed, so the workers, with their powerful mandibles, destroy the leaves🍃 of the plants and carry the remains to rebuild and feed themselves at the same time with the pieces.
Por ultimo y como ejemplo de que el trabajo no se detiene sin importar la situación, encontramos las hormigas🐜 rojas, conocidas como bibijaguas, las cuales estaban en proceso de reconstrucción de su colonia. Tras el paso de las fuertes lluvias🌧️ la colonia quedó destruida así que las obreras con sus poderosas mandíbulas destruyen las hojas🍃 de las plantas y cargan con los restos para reconstruir y alimentarse a la vez con los pedazos de la misma.
