Walk around Izvorovo, Bor and Three mounds /

in WE ARE MOVING2 years ago

Hello nature lovers. Some time ago I finally managed to visit and explore this area in the Rhodopes. Unfortunately I only had a few hours and there is definitely something to see here. Let's get started.

The mountain was engulfed in fog, which in some places completely covered us, but I am a person who does not give up and finds beauty in every place. I can safely say that the photos from the foggy forest are my favorites.

In some places, the fog cleared and advancing along the winding forest roads I had the chance to capture quite a few panoramic shots.

I'm headed to the village of Bor. I now understand why it's called that. Pine forests predominate around. Our path continues uphill and thick forests and forest meadows alternate in front of us.

As we approach the village, we see the first signs of civilization. We pass by a beautiful stone fountain and further on we catch up with grandfather Mehmed, one of the few remaining residents here.

Here, finally, is the village. Life was once bustling here, but now there are only a dozen inhabitants. The beautiful stone houses are "stuck" on the steep slopes of the mountain. For a moment, I thought about how it feels to wake up in the morning and see all this beauty around you .With this, our journey ends. We have the long way back. Let's go.

That's heartwarming 🥺

That's right. It's an amazing place

Wow what an epic walk!

Such a gorgeous area and yes I could definitely take a long walk up there (in summer) and not come back for a long time, but to live there full time and in winter...yeah.. nooo...

It looks like a very old place, so it make you wonder why people settled there in the firs place.

Any idea how old it is?

According to a local, the village was built around 1820у

Wow, I thought that it would be much older than that for that part of the world!

but still, thats is pretty old and still so gorgeous!

I love thé nature too, Amazing pictures

Those are some incredible photographs! You truly understand how to create a mood from various sceneries. And my goodness, some of those views are absolutely epic - such as those we'd see in movies. Great work. 😊
