The brown Caribbean pelican is widely seen on the coasts of Cuba. This seabird is characterized by its dark brown color and its long beak. It is one of the largest birds in the region, and usually swims near the seashore to feed on fish. It's wonderful to see them fly in the blue sky of Cuba, and it's a unique experience to see them on the beach. Definitely an experience you can't miss!
El pelícano pardo del Caribe es muy visto por las costas de Cuba. Esta ave marina se caracteriza por su color marrón oscuro y su largo pico. Es una de las aves más grandes de la región, y suele nadar cerca de la orilla del mar para alimentarse de peces. Es una maravilla verlos volar en el cielo azul de Cuba, y una experiencia única verlos en la playa. ¡Definitivamente una experiencia que no te puedes perder!
These birds have a long neck and a jaw-shaped beak, which helps them filter fish and other food from the oceans. If you are near the coast, you will probably see some of these as you pass by. These birds commonly found along the Cuban coast, are 114 to 137 cm long, with their distinctive long beak having from the lower half a bag capable of storing up to 11 liters of water which it uses to hunt their prey.
Estas aves tienen un largo cuello y un pico en forma de mandíbula, que les ayuda a filtrar peces y otra comida de los océanos. Si estás cerca de la costa, es probable que veas a algunos de estos al pasar. Estas aves comúnmente encontrado a lo largo de la costa cubana, tienen una longitud de 114 a 137 cm de largo, con su distintivo pico largo teniendo desde la mitad inferior una bolsa capaz de almacenar hasta 11 litros de agua lo cual usa para cazar sus presas.

They are a family of seabirds adapted for diving and swimming. These birds have wide wings to fly more easily but even so, the flight is slow and are usually used for short distances. Its caps are large and are used to store and bring small fish that trap underwater directly into its wide mouth. These birds behave mainly like social animals and form colonies to mate. Although they usually live near the water, pelicans are birds far from the ground and approach the land only to nest.
Son una familia de aves marinas adaptadas para bucear y nadar. Estas aves tienen alas amplias para volar con mayor facilidad pero aun así, el vuelo es lento y generalmente se usan para cortas distancias. Sus casqueras son grandes y se usan para almacenar y llevar directamente a su amplia boca los peces pequeños que atrapan bajo el agua. Estas aves se comportan principalmente como animales sociales y forman colonias para aparearse. Aunque suelen vivir cerca del agua, los pelícanos son aves lejanas al terreno y se acercan a la tierra solo para nidificar.
