Living in sub-tropical Florida, you realize it’s a wild world. Not usual to see a fallen coconut, like this, in your path

But when I heard a rustling in the palm tree above me I, immediately, looked up in case another coconut might drop on my head.

Instead, I caught this green guy, hiding in the palm from—nearly camouflaged, but not quite.

I took a moment to admire him, and capture these images while he, no doubt, checked me out, in turn.


Then, he was on his merry way up the tree…

And I continued on mine, to the post office to gift a few of my books to a Hive friend, in Finland, @Tarazkp as a small token of appreciation for his saving my hide.

On the way back home, I made time to stop and spend a moment with a winged friend, a cockatoo, that I usually visit with outside a nearby pet store.

Typically, the little blue bird gets terribly jealous (and aggressive) of any attention the jovial cockatoo gets.

So, to avoid upsetting their fragile harmony (and getting bitten) I just sang to the big bird for a bit, we both bobbed our heads to the beat and I bid the friendly creature goodbye.
