Hello friends and crochet fans! đ
I hope you are all doing very well and that you had a great holiday season with the people you love! I wish you a very happy new year. đ
Who says new year, says review of the past year. And after my book review of the year 2024, I wanted to share my crochet review with you.
I started crocheting in January 2024. I first learned the basic stitches: slip knot, chain stitch, single crochet, slip stitch, half double crochet, double crochet, double crochet.
And I practiced each stitch for a few hours.
Then, I started the projects. And I will show you everything I crocheted this year:
I started by crocheting a first ear warmer headband in January. I was rather very proud of my very first creation đ
And I made another one, but in black this time đ
I then tried granny squares, but I wasn't a fan of the result and above all, I didn't have any ideas for a project to do with them... đ
I made a first book cover, two-tone, because I hadn't planned enough black wool... đ
Then, I made a few crocheted scrunchies: a black and white one (my favorite), a white one and a white one in chenille wool in March. And a green and white one in June đ
After that, I crocheted a bouquet of flowers for my mom: sprigs of lavender, an aroma, and daisies đ
Then, I wanted to start crocheting clothes for the summer: a first top with shells đ
And a second triangle top for the summer đ
I also started granny squares to make a glasses case, but I never finished it⊠Here are the squares đ
Then, I crocheted a bookmark with balls of cotton and a 2mm hook (it was the first time I used such a fine thread) đ
Then, I decided to start amigurumi, so I started a clam⊠But I never finished it. Here are the pieces (I'll show them to you anyway so you can imagine what it must have looked like đ
I then started some granny squares to make a pillowcase, but again, I stopped halfway through... Maybe I'll continue one day đ
After these failures, I made a pouch for @genesisledger's e-reader đ
Then, I decided to make a new headband for winter 2024-2025 (by the way, you may have seen the tutorial I posted on hive) đ
And then I wanted to crochet other accessories for winter, so I made a beanie for my mom đ
And I made myself some mittens (I also shared the tutorial on hive a few weeks ago đ
I also crocheted some candy canes to decorate our Christmas tree đ
And to finish the year, I started a big oversized cardigan. For the moment, it's only the back đ
And I started granny squares to make a small cotton pouch, I will finish it in 2025 đ
I think we can say that it's been a busy year! I discovered the world of crochet at the beginning of 2024 and since then, I have a real passion for this activity. I am really proud of my creations, even if they are not perfect.
And you? What did you crochet in 2024? What is your most beautiful creation or the one you are most proud of? đ
I wish you that this new year 2025 is filled with love, happiness, health and money (and crochet creations of course). Take care of yourself! đ„°
See you soon,
Johanna
