The Chiffon Shift Dress For Tessa.

Holla beautiful people of this great community.

I quickly made a chiffon shift dress for my neighbour who had a child dedication to attend tomorrow.

In all honesty, I have missed sharing my project, you know how it feels to have other commitments which you have to pause one for?

That's my current situation, I have a nine-month programme I am currently on and it's taking much of my time, so much research work and other things in between which has been my reason for being inconsistent here, but as soon as I am done with the programme, I would be all up on ya faces like I've always done. Haha

Tessa my neighbour came in with very beautiful chiffon fabrics of about three yards and wanted a maxi shift dress, making this dress had me pause some other things to put a smile on her face.

Three months ago, she had her first child and that's the least I could do to put a smile on her face since her child's dedication is scheduled for tomorrow, so I agreed to make the shift dress for her afterall it wouldn't take much of my time.

I made this dress yesterday, the cutting and sewing all happened yesterday.

Maxi dresses are known for their elegance and this one wasn't different.

I made a round neckline cut with the measurement of 3.5 inches width and 3 inches depth.

We usually call this kind of style the butterfly dress in our part of the country, because when spread it looks like butterflies.😀

I only folded the hem neatly with my machine and the hem of the sleeves too.

It doesn't have a separate sleeve, so it usually cuts together with the bodice.

I used the ribbon to neatly secure the neckline of the dress and I also sewed around the bodice so it took me 3 hours to make this short dress, both sewing and cutting the shift dress.

The outcome looks really beautiful and I believe she would look so gorgeous tomorrow to dedicate her child.

I was glad I made the dress she requested even though my schedule was quite choked up.

What do you think about the dress? Would you rock something like this too?

Here are different views of the beautiful chiffon dress. I think this dress is ideal cause it is easy to wear and wash.

Did you see the sleeve and how it gave the butterfly effect? Ha ha, now you see. Why it's called a butterfly dress.
