RE: An Ingenious Pot Holder! - Simple things that make Life more Fun

That's actually a dictionary I have not considered. Thanks for sharing. This word definitely needs a place in https://www.etymonline.com/search?q=bockety

And @paradigmprospect's table (hello!), that is not a table but soon a walking cupboard (only one step beyond) is probably only asking for a cup for making it's first step. ;-) (Why didn't you cross-bond the bamboo? How wonderful to see such building material growing in the garden.)

If he can make a walking cupboard, he'll make millions. Imagine, no more going to the cupboard, the cupboard would come to us:) By the way, here in Ireland we call a cupboard a press!

Oh yes, if the table made more then only one step, it would be a thing. :-) I haven't heard that press can be a shelf or table either. A hint I found is in https://www.etymonline.com/search?q=press

We'd say 'Put it in the press' instead of 'Put it in the cupboard'.

That's a good one, thanks! A pity that there's no details on "an old word".
