Hello everyone at NeedleworkMonday! I'm so excited to share with you a new project I've been working on. Today I'm going to show you how to make an awesome pair of men's shorts using monkey fabric with a fun panda print. This is a perfect project to add a fresh and fun touch to a men's wardrobe, great for summer or those lazy days. Monkey fabric is lightweight, comfortable, and has a unique print that can make any outfit stand out. Plus, it's easy to work with.
Shorts can vary in length and cut. Shorter styles are ideal for a relaxed look, while longer styles may be appropriate for more formal occasions. Shorts fabric is known for being lightweight and breathable, making it ideal for warm climates, while being soft to the touch and generally very comfortable for everyday wear.

Paso nro 1
Paso nro 1
First, I used the tape measure to measure my waist, hips, and the desired length of the shorts. I wrote down all of the measurements so I would have them handy when cutting out the fabric. I used the pattern to cut out the onesie fabric. I made sure to place the pattern in the correct direction of the print so that the pandas would line up nicely. I left about 1.5cm of seam allowance around all of the pieces.

I took the two side pieces of the shorts and placed them on top of each other, right sides facing each other. I used pins to hold them in place. Using the sewing machine, I sewed along the side edge, leaving the 1.5 cm seam allowance. I repeated this step for the other side of the shorts. Then, I sewed the bottom pieces of the shorts (front and back) together in the same way, making sure the edges lined up.

Paso nro 3
For the pockets, I cut two pieces of fabric into oval or rectangle shapes, depending on the design I wanted. I sewed each pocket piece onto the side of the shorts, making sure they lined up and were pinned in place. I sewed the edges of the pocket together, leaving the top open. This will give the shorts a practical and stylish look.

For the waist, I cut a strip of elastic that measured my waist measurement. Then, I hemmed the top of the shorts, leaving a space to insert the elastic. I inserted the elastic into the hem using a safety pin to make the process easier. I secured the elastic in place by sewing the ends together and then closed the hem.

With the seams already done, I finished the edges to prevent them from fraying. I used the overlock, but you can also do it with a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine.
