Hello everyone
Merry Christmas to you all in this great community and hive at large, it is a beautiful day to celebrate the birth of our lord Jesus Christ and I hope you are all having a great time of the season with your love ones, family and friends. It is with great pleasure that I bring to you this special Christmas gift I made for my sister.
It's Christmas and a time to show love to family, friends and everyone around us, no matter how small it is, so I have decided to use my creativity and what I know how to do best to make some gift items for people around me, at first, I thought of buying some items from the store but with how expensive things are out there, I had no choice than to go with the idea of making some hand made bags and purse for my love ones and people around me.
Join me as I take you through the process of making this beautiful bag for my sweet sister.
I know my sister will so much love this bag with the size and the zipper pocket sewn to the side and another inner pocket on the lining before the main big zipper on the bag itself and the two sides handle.
From the fabric I had, I cut out 2 pieces of 11 x 15" with interfacing ironed on both.
I cut out another 2 pieces of 11 x 3" with interfacing ironed on it as well
For the handle, I cut out 2 pieces 4 x 20" with interfacing ironed on both, it was folded and sewn together to make the handle which was set aside.
Sewing process
First, I sew the outter pocket to one of the main fabric for the bag with a zipper sewn to it.
The zipper was sewn to the opening and it was turned to the back and sewn together
The handles were sewn to both main fabric 2" away from the mid point
Then the other 3" x 15" were also sewn to the tip of both fabric as well.
The main fabric for the bag was then placed on a lining to cut out the same shape, then I processed to make the inner pocket and sew it on the lining.
I placed the a zipper on the tip of the bag with the lining and sew it together on both sides before I top stitched on it.
I placed the main fabric to main fabric and lining to lining with the zipper opened to the middle and sew on both sides leaving an opening on the lining to be turned inside out.
It was sewn and I marked 2" on the edges which was cut out.
The opening were all sewn together and it was turned inside out through the opening on the lining.
This is the final outcome and I'm sure you like the beautiful outcome, this will be presented to my sister as her Christmas gift and I'm sure she will be so glad to have it.
What a thoughtful and creative Christmas gift. The handmade bag looks beautiful, and the attention to detail makes it special. Great work
