Hello beautiful people
Compliment of the season to you all out there, it's Christmas time and I believe you all are busy with different outfit and creativity for the season for yourself, love ones, family, friends and even clients. It is with great pleasure that I bring to you in this lovely community the making of this beautiful ball gown I made for my little niece for Christmas.
As Christmas is fast approaching, I thought of making a dress for my sister's daughters as a gift, considering the cost of this in the market, all I needed to do is get the materials and do the sewing myself, getting the dress from store will actually cost more, so I offered to make this outfit for the little girl first, children can be so interested in new outfit no matter how cheap it is but since my sister is not so financially buoyant because of other expenses to get two different outfit for her kids for Christmas and new year celebration, I decided to make one for them.
I went to the market to get the necessary materials needed and From the fabric I got, I cut out the front and back bodice using a basic block pattern for the half length.
It was cut out with a satin fabric to turn it inside out as lining.
It was taken to the sewing machine where I sew the satin and the main fabric together for the front and back which was turned inside out.
From the main fabric, I cut out the desired full length measurement with the waist circumference measurement x4 and run a long stitch through it before it was gathered together to the waist circumference measurement
I bought a tafeta material for the lining and cut out the waist circumference measurement x4 as well with the full length minus 3" then I ran a long stitch on it and gathered it to the waist circumference.
To make the ball gown full, I bought hard net of 2 yards and cut out 10" in two places and pleated it on a cone shape satin I cut out using the waist circumference measurement and full length of 15"
The upper bodice were sewn together with the side seam allowance and I sew the pleated main fabric to the waist line, then the tafeta and finally the hard net.
For the sleeves, I made a puff sleeve and sew it to the armhole circumference.
On the side waistline, I sew I long piece on both sides to make a belt for the dress and to give the dress a little applique, I made a little bow from the left over pieces of fabric and added some embroidery of sliver color to it with glue gun and it was finally fixed to the side front of the dress.
This is the final and beautiful outcome of the ball dress I made for my little niece for Christmas. I hope you like the beautiful outcome of it.
It's a really beautiful dress, I'm glad you were able to help your sister with this gesture of love for your niece.
