Happy first Monday of the year to you all in this community @needleworkmonday, it's good to be back this year again with our beautiful project doing what we know how to do best, it is a great pleasure to be here with you all, I'm so glad to be back this year and I hope we will all have a great time together sharing our creativity. Today, I will be sharing with you all the making of this beautiful white gown outfit I made for my neighbor for the first Sunday of the year service to church.

I have this new neighbor who just moved into an apartment close to mine a month ago just before Christmas and as Christmas was approaching, she had to travel, she came back after Christmas and we celebrated the new year together, when she got back, she came with this floral lace material that she was gifted and she would like me to make a simple outfit for her, after showing her pictures of different styles on my phone, she eventually picked this style with ruffles hem which caught her eyes, she asked if I could make it and I promised to make it for her then she told me if I eventually make this to look beautiful without any mistake, she will be wearing it to church as her first Sunday of the year outfit. Making this was not a problem for me so I began my work.

This is my first outfit I'm making for her so I was very careful not to make mistakes as this will say alot about my work.

Cutting and sewing process.

First thing I did was to fold the fabric in two using the hip circumference measurement divid by 4 plus seam allowance then I cut out from the waist line down to the knee length using the bodice measurement.

I placed it on a satin and cut out same shape before it was sewn together.

The front and back were sewn together leaving the zipper allowance at the back.

After I was done with the lower part, I processed to the upper bodice but first, it was drafted on a brown paper before it was transferred to the main fabric, then I cut out the front and back upper bodice of a princess dart bustier.

The front and back bodice were sewn with same shape of satin and lining with a sweetheart neckline Infront

I measured the round knee measurement and cut out x3 of it in 2 places with 3" difference to complete the full length measurement

It was gathered to the round knee measurement and sewn to the hem of the gown.

The upper bodice was sewn to the lower part of the dress and it was set aside as I processed to the sleeves

For the sleeves, I cut out this shape of sleeves just as it was on the picture I was shown well, I don't really know the name of the sleeves but it's a beautiful sleeve.

It was pleated and sewn to the armhole circumference and finally, the zipper was sewn to the zipper allowance at the back and I have this beautiful gown ready.

This is the final outcome of the dress I made for my new neighbor, she was so happy to have me made this gown so beautiful for her, she wore it to church on Sunday being the first Sunday of the year just as promised.

I'm so glad she likes it and I hope you do as well.

Thanks so much for your time, support, comment and encouragement. Until my next post. Happy new year and week to you all.

The dress is gorgeous with such an exaggerated sleeve. A special kind of design I must say and your neighbors will definitely love it.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much sis, I love the sleeves as well it's one of it's kind, I'm so happy it came out this nice.

It turned out really beautiful, and you can tell it was very well done. Beautiful work ☺️👍

At first I thought it was a dress for a civil wedding because it really is very pretty, with a belt that contrasts with the white and matches the shoes it must look spectacular.

The final result is impressive. It is so beautiful, elegant, and lovely. It looks amazing. Love it. Keep up the good work!

Beautiful gown

Thanks so much.
