Greetings to you all today Monday and I hope you are doing great just as i am here, this another beautiful week and I'm here to share with you how I made this cute hand bag with double color of fabric with 5 pockets for myself to replace the one I had, yes, the bag I made for myself that I like so much was eventually given out and I had to make another one for myself to replace that which was given out to a friend.
I went for a meeting last weekend that I had to go with the bag I made for myself from fabric just as I usually do, though, it was my first time of attending the meeting with the bag I made for myself, before now, I usually go with one of the bags I got from stores but this time, I took the bag because of what I had to go with, when I got to the meeting, the bag was admired by others especially my friend who asked me who made the bag and I told them I did, little did I know that I won't be going home with the bag even when I promised to make hers for her, she insisted I give her and make another one for myself, I had no choice than to let her have it. I could remember I told myself not to give out the bag to anyone as it was just the only bag left with me but unfortunately, I couldn't stick to that anymore 😃
Here is the new bag I made for myself with the cutting and sewing process.
I cut out the base of the bag which is 26 x 15" with interfacing ironed on it
It was folded in two as I measured and cut out 2" square at the bottom edges and it was repeated on the lining.
From the other color of fabric, I measured and cut out 8 x 15" with interfacing ironed on it.
I cut out same shape of lining which was used to turn it inside out on the two sides before I top stitched on it.
The piece for the main bag was opened up and I placed the other color of fabric on 1.5" away from the cut and it was sewn down
I located the mid point and sew on it to make two side pockets on both sides.
For the handle, I cut out 2 pieces of 18 x 4" with interfacing ironed on it
It was folded in and sewn on both sides
On the main fabric, I marked 2.5" from the mid point and the handle were sewn on both sides
At the tip, I sew a matching color zipper on both sides with lining and it was top stitched on.
I placed lining to lining and fabric to fabric and I sew on both sides with the opening at the bottom leaving an opening on the lining where it can be turned inside out.
Finally, it was turned inside out through the opening on the lining and zipper opening and this is the final and beautiful outcome.
