I bring you all greetings from this part of the world today, I hope you are all having great time out there, it's with great pleasure that I will be sharing with you today the making of this beautiful bag for my friend's colleague at work with two different pieces of fabric, the bag is made inform of a tote bag with zipper and outter side pocket.

My friend's colleague saw the bag I made for her and requested that I make two different bags for her from the fabric she gave me, which I did make one for her and it was shared here, it was a boxy shape bag and now, from the remaining fabric, I decided to make a bit bigger one than the previous one, but unfortunately, the fabric was not enough so I had to combine it with the pieces I had left from my previous project and the outcome was so nice.

Let me take you through the cutting and sewing process.

I measured and cut out 15 x 27" of the main for the bag with interfacing and lining.

For handle, I cut out 15 x 4" with interfacing

It was folded and sewn together

For the outter pocket, I cut out 13 x 6.5" on the other fabric with interfacing ironed on it, it was folded in two and sewn round leaving an opening at the top to be turned inside out.

I went ahead to prepare the zipper as I cut out 2 x12" of fabric and lining then I sew the zipper on it.

The main bag was sewn to the lining at the tip leaving an opening by the side to be turned inside out.

It was turned inside out through the opening and I sew the opening up and the tip was top stitched on as well

Thanks so much my dear friend, it will be so nice if you can make one for yourself, it's so simple to make and very useful.

Well, for the materials, you can use pieces of Ankara fabric, but for this particular one, I used an old fashioned gele used by our grandmothers those days.

What a nice design. It looks great. It is very useful in daily life. Love it. Keep up the good work!
