Hello everyone
Beautiful morning to beautiful people here in this community, as you all know this is what I know how to do best, bringing fabrics into beautiful design using my creativity.
I'm here today to show you my recent design of a short gown for my neighbor's daughter which was made from the Left over fabric I had left from sewing a top and trousers for her brother. This fabric was initially intended to be sewn for the mother but she later had a change of mind to make it for her son since the fabric was not enough for the style she wanted to make, lucky enough, after cutting and sewing a top and trousers for her son, I had left over from the fabric. Since it's a plain and pattern fabric, I had to combine the two fabric to make a beautiful design to style the top.
Looking at the left over fabric, I thought of should be able to make something from it for the little daughter as well but what to make from it was a bit challenging as the fabric was not enough to make the design I had in mind, just as I was about to give up on the fabric, an idea came to my mind, I remembered I had a flare gown which was with a long sleeve so I decided to make something similar.
After doing my calculations on how to cut the fabric with the little girl's measurement, I found out the length was too short using only the plain fabric so I added the pattern fabric to complete the full length, that was the first thing I did knowing fully well that I can get the upper bodice from other pieces.
With this, I knew I was going to achieve a good result so, I proceeded to cutting of the upper bodice using the plain fabric which the remaining pattern fabric was used to cut the sleeve, which I made a long sleeve with an elastic band at the hem of the sleeve to make it a little puffy.
Surprisingly, after cutting out the necessary part I needed to make a complete outfit, I had pieces left from the pattern fabric which I decided to use to add a long belt to the center front of the dress.
This is so beautiful, if you agree with me.
My neighbor compliment my creativity as she was so glad with the outcome of the dress.
Excellent skill, it is looking so beautiful.
Thanks so much @diyhub for your lovely comment and support.
You're welcome. Keep up the great work.
Que bonito trabajo, felicidades.
Bravo , the dress looks nice
You are on point. Weldone
Great combination of fabrics, everything turned out like it was always intended to be this way!
The idea to add a band of a contrasting fabric is a great way to add length and not need to buy more.
