Holla needleworkers, I had a lot of fun with this project so I thought that I should share it with you guys.
Materials used
Yarn
3.5mm crochet hook
Stitch marker
Measuring tape
If you ask me what's my favorite part of this project, I'd say the part where I didn't get to spend too much on it. Personally, I'm not one that gets stuck up on long term projects as I get easily bored.
The project took me roughly 2 hours and it would have been faster if I wasn't multi-tasking. The gist is, I'm not really one of those early birds but then I try to manage my time well especially knowing that time is of value.
On this particular day that I made this neck piece, I was going to visit my aunts after work. I was to pick up some of our personal belongings that we left behind over the weekend that we had stayed there.
But first, I had to go to work early so that I could close from the office on time to beat the rush hour traffic. Again, being that I'm going to my aunts, I had to look my best, because the maternal side of my family hates tackiness. Infact, it's a taboo to look less, so I knew I had to look peng plus it's a monday so why not?
On the said monday morning before work and school, my daughter was a little feet draggy and this ate into our time because I had to do school run before work. Finally, we got out of the house in a hurry so that we both won't be late. I dropped her off at school and went to work. Since we were battling time constraints, I could not accessorize. I kept the jewelry in my bag to do all the accessorizing at the office.
Unfortunately, on getting to the office, my necklace was nowhere to be seen in my bag. I searched my bag thoroughly and could only find my earrings, the necklace and bangles were not inside. Immediately, my mood changed and I was thrown into panic mode. I thought about how not having any necklace or bangles on would ruin my going to my aunt's place because I'm not about to be interrogated by them why my neck is looking bare.
For a brief second there, I didn't know what to do. After a lot of brainstorming, it was like I could hear @abenad whispering in my ear, asking me, are you not a crocheter? Fix up something. Immediately I had a Eureka moment like a light bulb lit on top of my head. I love chokers and since it's a V-neck shirt, the choker will bang. I immediately went online to look for choker designs, I had wanted a simple yet elegant choker and this Rose did it for me.
Being that I was at work much earlier than expected, I was the only one around. Luckily, I had some of my yarn and hook that I keep in the office just in case I get an order that requires express delivery, I could start from the office if I have no work to do. By the time my colleagues were resuming, I was already rolling the rose, ready to wear.
Got to my aunts place after work and they couldn't stop complimenting my look, the rose choker was the most talked about and as I was leaving, they told me to keep pinging (looking nice) lol.
You look so good in that choker. I want mine in black with shiny stuff on it.
I love how you used the red for the choker.
And for the whispering I did, that’s 5 hbd only
Here I was contemplating making a black choker for me 😂🤣.... Twins 🥹
I cannot comprehend your closing line, write in English next time 😒
A truly creative solution The rose choker sounds both elegant and charming, and it’s impressive that you crafted it so quickly on the go. It’s amazing how crochet can save the day and create something stylish in a pinch. Thank you for sharing your story.
