Needlework is great to do while travelling.
I love doing this as a time break.
I bought this dress and decided the front could use some leaves and flowers with some embroidery.
This is the first leave in light beige.
I have a lot to go and it will take a bit for the total to be finished.
But in the mean time it’s always wearable because I will do the left and right even.
Easy when you have a box with many colors and time. The threads are especially for embroidery and I use a wooden ring.
You can do different styles and do a full embroidered flower or follow the print on the fabric or garments you use. Free style is easy and nice in the end.
It’s not the first I have done a few months ago I did another blog with this free style.
The fact that you don’t need a big bad and a lot of room when travelling. I have a small bag and can do it in my lap. And when I want to read or blog just put it away.
Upcycling of a dress or any other garment is always a great idea and fun to work on.
Make it more your own like brand and nobody else has it that way.
I have done it many times and will do a lot more. So whenever you have a fabric print that’s speaks to you and is wurth upcycling just think to embroider.
I will be using six colors of thread.
Again it’s just a starting off a embroidery project blog. I will update the dress in the comments with pictures and embroidery updates.
I love the print of the dress.

This is such a fun idea - I've never tried embroidery, but I can imagine it would be very meditative... and I love the effect it gives. Plus, who doesn't want one-of-a-kind clothing? And wow look at that thread stash! Every colour of the rainbow! Beautiful!
