First things first, I want to congratulate all the moms who are reading this, whether they are new moms or moms of several babies, grandmothers, stepmothers, pet moms, etc. Happy Mother's Day!
Now, to congratulate mine, it occurred to me last night to make her an embroidery, so in order to not get to complicaded, I decided to keep it simple (also so that I would have enough time). I wanted it to be a small detail that she could include in her gift. I will show you the process of how I did it.
I drew a small half arch of flowers and some simple letters. As roses are usually given as gifts on Mother's Day, I decided to embroider some embossed roses. I used a red thread DMC code 666, a dark green thread DMC code 890, a light green thread DMC (I don't know the code, sorry), and black sewing thread.
For start, I made stem stitches to make the letters, although I must admit that I didn't like the way it looked and I decided to make only back stitches.
To make the roses I used Caston stitch. One of the many ways there are to embroider emboss flowers, and so far I think it's my favorite. I made 3 roses with this stitch.
I also made 4 small Marguerite stitches for the small flowers on the sides.
To continue, using the light green thread, I made the back stitch to fill in the stems, and to make the branches that you see on the sides, I used the fly stitch.
As soon as I finished I moved on to the last step: embroidering the leaves. This is where I used the dark green thread.
The photos may be a little blurry, but at the time I didn't have much help from my camera. I hope you can see that to embroider the leaves, I only did some straight stitches.
¡Terminado!
All done!
To conclude, I washed the fabric and transferred it to this little hoop I made from recycled material. Now my little embroidery is ready to be given as a gift ♥ I hope my mom likes it.
Thanks so much for reading, see you next time!
