This time, I’m going to share my passion for sewing. I made a simple, usable utility bag, some may call it a tote bag. I created this bag because it’s washable and reusable, making it a better alternative to plastic bags and eco bags.
Join me as I show you the simple process of making one!
Materials: fabric, Strap,lining
Step 1: Cutting the Fabric
Cut two identical pieces for the body (about 18”x16”) and two for the lining. Also, cut two pieces for the handles (about 4”x20”).
Step 2: Preparing the Handles
Fold each handle piece in half lengthwise, press, then fold the edges to the center and press again. Sew along the folded edges.
Step 3: Sewing the Bag
Place the body pieces right sides together and sew along the sides. Sew across the bottom corners to add depth.
Step 4: Attaching the Handles
Pin the handles to the top of the bag and sew them securely.
This is a very simple process for making a colorful tote bag!

My daughter loves using her colorful tote bag! The moment I gave it to her, she was very happy, it suited her personality perfectly.

The strong fabric means it can hold everything without worrying about tearing or becoming too heavy, making it her go-to bag every day.
What’s really special is how independent it makes her feel. She loves to sling it over her shoulder and carry it herself. As a student, she has a lot of stuff to carry, and she knows her tote bag has everything she needs. Packing it herself brings her so much joy, it has become more than just a bag; it’s part of her everyday adventures.
That’s why I love making utility bags for daily use. And this tote bag once it is empty it can easy to fold and just put it in your pocket.
