Hello community, today I share with you a preventive maintenance performed on a 5 HP three-phase motor. As you can see in the picture, the motor was completely disassembled and both bearings were changed as these were with wear and tear and this causes the rotor to have difficulty rotating and increase the current consumption. Next, a dielectric wash was performed to remove grease, dust and any substance that causes resistance to the current flowing through the coil. After these steps, it is important to test the insulation of the motor coils to verify that they have the required insulation level and thus be sure that the motor has no current leakage with the casing, this is done with an electrical measuring instrument called (MEGER) and the insulation level that a rotating machine must have is 5000 MEGA OHMS. Finally, the motor is reassembled and placed in operation to take measurements of currents and that these are in accordance with the data plate of the motor, this is done using a clamp amperimetric. I hope this contribution will be of help.
Nice work i was hoping to see more photos of the fix, hope it continues to work.
Bummer about the other photos. Nice work thnaks for sharing.
