#needleworkmonday
Hi there everyone. How are you all doing? I hope you had a wonderful weekend because I know I did. So over the weekend I had a great time so yeah. The opportunity to make this cute little short and oh my God it came out so well and I've got a nice gist for you guysssss.
I remember my previous blog post was about a loyal client and how we made a collaboration. Wellllllllllll its her birthday tomorrow and this short is the first step to her surprise romper. Don't worry this isn't from the brand, at least not this one.
Let's get into the full gist properly so you'll know the mushy mushy and lovey dubby parts of this story that got me all “God when”
(for the non-nigerians this is a slang sort of for when good things happen to others and the bystanders or third parties are like God when o)
So yes I felt like a potato and a fish while taking this order 😅😅 because lorrrrd men are so so intentional. The thing is. Few weeks ago my client's man texted me about getting something for her.
Thing is she always talks about how she loves crochet wears and how she wants to own a whole closet of them. And she also used to comment on the stuff I posted on my status so I knew all the things she liked and wanted to buy over time.
When he texted me he said he wanted to get her a gown for her birthday and I was like oh that sounds like a good idea yeah but there are some things that I posted and she had her eyes on them but it's not a gown though. He was like sennnnd and when I did it was a skirt and a romper. He said okayyy how much for both. I told him the price and we went straight to processing the order.
Since it was for her birthday. Especially for my good client I wanted it to be special and different. So after I completed the order I had to purchase a gift box and customize it too so it'll be Specific to just her.
I texted the person I know that makes and customizes gift boxes send him samples of what I wanted and he could do it so I placed my order and sent him the document of my logo and he got to work while I got to work on my ends.
So I couldn't call her in for a fitting because its a surprise soooo I was so happy I had her previous measurement from the gown and that's what I used to measure for this romper short.
I got to work and honestly orange is a bright color and during the day it really messes with my sight so I did most of the work in the evening or indoors so the color doesn't get me.
Doesn't mean I didn't have fun making this every part was calculated made increases on the short so itll fit her hip and this is step one to completing the tomper. I hope you all like it. .
Things I used to make this romper:
4.0 mm hook for the
Stitch markers
4 40g yarns
Scissors
Measurement tape
Ps: these pictures belong to me and we’re taken with my mobile device.
God when indeed😂
That’s a beautiful short and I like the fact that it’s in my favorite color. 🤭
Those ruffle ends speaks volumes of beauty.
Guy. If I was single, I'd just cry walahi. I'm glad you like the short. Ah, so orange is your colour. I've caught that one now.

I'm surprised you said the color was messing up your sight though. @doreenarch
I wear glasses, actually. I have issues with bright colours. Then ut gets worse when its sunny and I'm working on a bright colour.
Oooh, I see.
Sorry about that.
So, working on bright colors when the atmosphere is cool will do no harm to your eyes right?
Yeah, exactly. I'm safe in cool weather.
The short looks so nice in this vibrant color, I love the ruffles. thanks for sharing.
You're welcome. I'm glad you like it.
