The Favie Skirt || Crochet Multicolored Granny Square Skirt

A few months ago I made a post about a skirt that was ordered for one of my clients as a surprise birthday gift and that when the order was made he had asked for a modification so the skirt won't be too transparent and she'll be comfortable wearing it.#needlework

Well I got another order for it a few weeks ago and she wanted the exact replica of the original piece. The design though.

The color mix was a bit different. Before I get into my tearing session of how using 1.60mm hook after a good number of years felt so nice I'd love to point out that my pain [ not literally] was worth it

Working on this had its fun sides and then other sides that were not so fun. But my first challenge was figuring out the exact hook to use.

I know it'll be a small hook but errrr it was not how I had imagined the size lol.

I started with 2.0mm and a double strand of yarn. It was too thick. Reduced it to one strand with the 2.0mm hook the holes in the stitches were too big and I settled with my smallest hook 1.60mm [I do need to get a set of tiny hooks starting to need them] when I tried out the 1.6mm it came out the perfect size.

I did use a treble crochet though so it'll Meet up the length and width I wanted.

Did my first squares to test run and it came out pretty well and since that was the case I went with it for the rest of the squares I had to make [18 in total for front and back panel]

Next was to join each of the panels together. I tried an invisible joining so it would not stick out [ the joining where you use slip stitch instead of single crochet stitches]

Then I made the strap for both sides of the skirt which was after I Tripped off loads of excess yarn from the skirt. I took my pictures because why notttttttt. Lol. Next step was my delivery/pickup and client's review.

I sent the finished work to her and it took a few hours but trust me I patiently waited for the review to come through from her since the measurement she sent me was an old one.

I just wanted to be sure that it was her size when she tried it outland indeed it was. She sent me pictures and videos and she looked so stunning in the full outfit

And yes you thought well I was dancing in my chair the day she. Send the picture and video. Happy client, happy vendor.

I decided to name it after her. I do have a habit of naming my pieces after the first client that shops then and its been going well so far
