Making of an overlapping dress

Overlapping dress has always been a kind of dress that ladies like to wear most especially nursing mothers.Gone are those that ladies have to put on buba attire while nursing their babies. They used to wear the buba attire all because it is free for them to easily pull it up and breast feed their kids.
At another we see that even nursing mothers try to put on dresses with zipper either at the back or front of the dress. Using dresses with its zipper at the back always comes with its stress of seeking for a third party assistance to help pull the zipper before they will be able to breast feed their kid. But now using an overlapping dress make it more easier for ladies or nursing mothers ro breastfeed their kids without the need of seeking for any help from anyone in assisting to pull off the zipper. Using an overlapping dress also makes nursing mothers to look more smart than using buba attire all in the name of breastfeeding a child.
An overlapping dress therefore makes it more comfortable and easy to breast feed as mothers can easy draw the dress sideways for the baby to feed. Unlike other dress, it does not exposed the mothers back or tummy while trying to breast feed.
PROCEDURE TO ACHIEVE THIS GARMENT:
Step1: customer measurements

Step2: get your materials ready. The materials needed are your ankara fabric or lacra materials, your lining, your thread, scissors, tailors chalk, and tape measure, but for garment making the customer is using an ankara fabric.

Step3: transfer the measurements on the fabric and cut out the fabric

The very first part to cut is the front bodice. This front bodice is going to be in two pieces. I.e a and b

Now placing the two pieces for the front bodice together will look like this

Step 4: cut out the back bodice a and b

Then placing the two back bodice together will look like this

Step 5: cut out the down part. This down oart can either be in flared, straight or pleated depending on your customer likes. To achieve the down part just subtract the half length from the full length i.e 15-43=28
so therefore you are to cut out 28inches long for the down part. For this customer we are going for pleating to achieve its down part. So just cut out the fabric long enough to cover up for the needed pleating. In most cases at least 2and half yards of 28 inches in length
Step 6: the joining process. This has to be done on a sewing machine

Step 7: cut out the sleeves. The sleeves can either be straight, or flared. But for this customer we are going for flared. Two flared for each arm

Now let go for the complete work after joining all the bodice together

For the neckline just cut out a straight pieces long enough to pipe the neck region but not wider than 4inches.
