Oops I did It Again

I made another Icelandic-ish knitted sweater in less than a month. Having an obsessive personality comes with some advantages too when it’s an obsession towards something healthy, useful and productive.

11 days ago I posted about my first sweater and mentioned I was not 100% happy with it so I wanted to make another one. I was not joking when I said I’m off to the yarn store. The first one was not a fail by any means because I actually have worn it every single day since, but I did want something else too.

This one is obviously a different colourway, and then I made the torso part shorter (should have made a bit narrower too), sized down on the sleeves and made the neckline a bit tighter. I didn’t really take progress pics this time, but if you’re interested, you can just check the post I linked, it’s basically the same.

I know I will get soooo much use our of this sweater too. I don’t know why it took me some 15-fucking-years until I got really into the sweater game and not just small knitted items like socks and mittens. I’m completely hooked. Next up on my list is starting Christmas gifts, but those I won’t show here until the end of the year when the lucky ladies have gotten their handmade pieces. I’m off to the yarn store again, soon, I’m thinking merino, mohair and silk yarns will be on the basket.

Are my fellow handcrafters making any Christmas gifts already?

Ah yes,my second sweater. I'm glad you finally finished it! 🤔🤪

I still don’t think it would fit 🤔

Yeah, you're probably right, but wool stretches right?

Damn it, you are too educated.

Lol...Or just too knucklheady Eve.

Hey ... thats nice!

I know right ☺️

LOVE IT! Making your own awesome sweaters is the best thing ever. Gorgeous design and execution too <3

It’s soooooo satisfying wearing something you made with your own two hands😊😊

I don't see a llama anywhere on that sweater. What gives?

Just kidding. Magnificent looking sweater. Beautiful nordic sensibilities and design with symmetrical patterns and "snowflake" geometrical motifs. Minimal and effective. The pattern vaguely reminded me of South American indigenous patterns and motifs (hence the llama reference). I wish I knew how to knit so I could experiment with different patterns. It seems like fun. Alas, you need some rather nimble fingers and the patience of a saint to knit a masterful sweater like yours. Nice!

Wow! Such a nice knitted sweater, I wish I could be like you.

That's really nice - perfect fit too :D

Thank you! That’s the beauty of hand made, it’s always made to measure.

Can I get one also ??

500€ and we can talk 😆

Very nice! I'm returning to knitting after many years away from it. Call it a Covid activity. There is wool on the way for my next one.

Yessssss get back into it! It’s definitely very on trend right now. Where I live they sold out of this yarn last year 😅

I don't know about you, but all our wool is rising in price, often doubling.

Dang, that’s a steep rise in price. I haven’t noticed that here, just the shortages on some super popular yarns.

Knitting is a skill I wish I had.

Takes some blood, sweat and tears before you get the hang of it but I still recommend it 😆

Awesome! I love everything about this sweater

Me too, so proud! 😁

Wow very beautiful and outstanding so lovely

I love the patterns of knitted sweaters from Iceland, I have always wanted to make one but I live in a semi-arid climate and I have never done it because it would only serve to keep it. I congratulate you on your skills :D

Well in theory you could make an Icelandic sweater pattern but use cotton yarn so it would be suited for your climate :)
