Got my tools ready for a great year ahead. Here are some of my top goals in the sewing/knitting department.
- Finish at least 1 WIP for every new project started.
- Find ways to use my stash of scraps, buttons, and trims in useful or profitable ways.
- Learn to use all the features on my machines that I have not yet made time to learn.
- Restore my vintage Kenmore to full function and look for more machines to refurbish.
I already started on number one by getting the batting and fiberfill to finish a crib quilt and some stuffed dolls I cut out ages ago.
For number 2, I plan to start with the lace/tulle scraps and start making fascinators and veils to hawk on Etsy or at the local bridal salon.
For number 3, my serger is back from a tune-up and I will be going through a book to learn to flatlock and to make the perfect rolled hem.
As for number 4, I just need to keep oiling and heating until the remaining frozen parts loosen up. Every treatment restores a bit more function to the machine.
So, I have goals and a plan.
Wonderful list with a nice mix of crafting and building. I just today started to fill out my calendar, but I fear I will go planless in the crafting area for now. (But you inspired me to have a think about it).
Hope you will go on in such a good manner with your list
Thank you. !CTP
I like your goals, now I believe I need to set some gaols too.
Mine will be basically of more purchases... I need items to setup my fashion business almost immediately.
Well done dear, good luck with all the WIPs.
I am always tempted to buy new machines, but I don't need them, so I resist. I did buy a dress form/mannequin, though, because I can't work on wedding gowns without something to hold the dress while I work. My first gown alteration s of the year will more than pay for that expense. !CTP
I can relate to your #1 and #2 needlework goals. 😍 Goodluck to us.
!CTP Thanks for stopping by.
You're well ahead!
I'm just getting round to thinking I might need some goals 🙂
I'm going o do Finish It February again this year. I have a three quarters finished cardigan, and one where the sleeves just need a sleeve cap and then sewn together.
Look forward to your progress!

Thanks, Barb. !CTP
I love this list, dear @fiberfrau ! Really good organising, and I look forward to seeing the new projects - and WIPs of course! - unfold. I really like your ideas for reusing scraps, too... Working a lot with wool, cutting up old jumpers, etc, I am saving lots of scraps and lengths of wool: so far, I'm using them as cat bedding for their winter dormatory - but one day I hope to have enough for a pillow - or a mattress 😁 😄 😍

I made my daughter's bridal veil from leftovers, so I think it will be fun trying different combinations.
How beautiful! I love to reuse all my scraps in some way or other: I made a wallet for myself earlier this year, from the gorgeous mock-patchwork material left over from making my friend's bag - it worked really nicely.
