Happy day to all my beautiful people who love thread and needles, this was a shirt dress I no longer used because it was too short and tight, that's why I was looking for a second chance, I only used it twice and because it was so short it limited me a lot to be able to move around with tranquility.
My niece always wanted a flared skirt, that's why it occurred to me to recycle the skirt of the dress and make her skirt, I would only have to make a few adjustments.
Feliz día para toda mi gente bella amantes del hilo y las agujas, este era un vestido camisero ya no usaba porque me quedaba muy corto y ajustado, es por ello que buscaba como darle una segunda oportunidad, yo solo lo use dos veces y por lo corto me limitaba mucho poder movilizarme con tranquilidad.
Mi sobrina siempre quiso una falda acampanada fue por ello que se me ocurrió reciclar la falda del vestido y hacerle su falda, solo me tendría que realizar unos ajustes.
The first thing I did was to remove the seam that joined the lower and upper part of the dress, so I could recycle the lower part to make the skirt.
Lo primero que hice fue quitar la costura que unía las inferior y superior del vestido, para así reciclar la parte inferior para realizar la falda.
For the waist I would need 50 cm of 1 cm wide elastic. I sewed both ends together creating the circumference of the waist.
Para la cintura necesitaría 50 cm de goma de 1 cm de ancho. La cual cosí juntando ambas puntas creando la circunferencia de la cintura.
As the skirt is cut in one piece it was a bit uncomfortable to place the elastic so I opted to help me with pins.
Como la falda está cortada en una sola pieza se me hacia un poco incomodo colocar la goma por lo que opte en ayudarme con alfileres.
When placing the pins I had to be careful to keep the 2 cm width for the waist.
Al colocar los alfileres tenía que cuidar de mantener los 2 cm de ancho para la cintura.
After placing all the pins, I proceeded to sew the waistband of the skirt taking care not to step on the elastic while sewing.
Después de colocar todos los alfileres, procedí a coser la cintura de la falda cuidando de no pisar la goma al coser.
When I finished the waistband of the skirt I adjusted the hem and now my niece has her flared skirt.
Al finalizar la cintura de la falda le ajusté el ruedo y lista ya mi sobrina tiene su falda acampanada.

Your nice looks wonderful in her new dress (and I fully understand her: wide skirts are the best) It was a good idea of you to re-use your own dress which perhaps did not got worn any longer and to transform it in a special garment for your nice. I always admire seamstresses who can make something new from a garment, because it is much more complicated than sewing from scratch.
It is true that it is less complicated and it is better to make better use of it than to keep it in storage.
