Al principio creía que no podría ser capaz de culminarlo a tiempo, más gracias a Dios si lo logré , lo primero que logré culminar fue la capa, pues ameritaba llevarla a colocar la respectiva insignia para que así estuviera completo su outfit; esto presentaba un desafío pues dicha capa es forrada y en mi vida nunca antes había confeccionado una prenda forrada, así que después de ver varios uno que otro vídeo hice lo mejor que pude.
At first, I didn't think I'd be able to finish it in time, but thank goodness I did! The first thing I completed was the cape, because it needed to have the insignia attached to be a complete outfit. This was a challenge because the cape was lined, and I'd never made a lined garment before. So, after watching a few videos, I did the best I could.
Luego seguí con la falda que les compartí en un blog hacen unas semanas, mas lo que me llevó mas tiempo fue diseñar la bufanda.
Then, I moved on to the skirt, which I shared in a blog post a few weeks ago. But the scarf was what took the longest.
Ella quería la bufanda tejida, así que comencé a tejerla en hilos rojo y amarillo intenso, al principio la comencé a tejer con punto tunecino pero se me hacía muy lento el proceso, por lo que intenté hacerlo con puntos altos, y esta aunque el tejido es más rápido quedaba muy grueso.
She wanted a knitted scarf, so I started knitting with bright red and yellow yarn. At first, I tried Tunisian crochet, but it was taking too long, so I switched to double crochet, which was faster, but the fabric was too thick.
Cuando recordé que tenía guardada un par de agujas, decidí buscarlas y cuando estaba por comenzar mi sobrina me dijo - tía no eres una buena fanática, la bufanda es vino tinto con amarillo no roja, al menos esta vez no había iniciado el proceso de tejido el cual me llevó varios días, pues tejía en cualquier tiempo libre que tenía.
Then, I remembered I had some knitting needles tucked away, and when I was about to start, my niece told me, Auntie, you're not a very good fan, the scarf is burgundy and yellow, not red! At least I hadn't started the knitting process yet, which took several days, because I was knitting whenever I had a spare moment.
Lo mejor de todo este proceso creativo fue vencer la presión de mi sobrina pues cada día me escribo 3 veces para saber como iba su outfit, aunque en mis empleos he trabajo muchas veces bajo presión, siento que esta presión de mi sobrina fue la que ganó en intensidad, más al verla feliz con su sueño cumplido bien valió la pena toda esa presión.
The best part of this whole creative process was overcoming the pressure from my niece. She was texting me three times a day to check on her outfit! Even though I've worked under pressure in my jobs many times, I feel like her pressure was on another level. But seeing her so happy with her dream come true made all that pressure totally worth it."
