Útil y práctico porta tijeras y accesorios (Es/En)

Como les he participado en mis anteriores publicaciones comencé a profundizar mis conocimientos de costura y por ende es necesario que llevar mis accesorios personales, pues toca medir, patronal y cortar en clase, es por esta razón que era necesario llevar mis tijeras de manera segura en mi bolso.

As I've mentioned in my previous posts, I've started to really dive deeper into my sewing knowledge, and because of that, I need to bring my personal tools with me. You know, for measuring, pattern making, and cutting in class. So, it became necessary to carry my scissors safely in my bag.

Es por ello que después de ver varias publicaciones en internet hubo un modelo que me llamo mucho la atención, pues es muy práctico y funcional, así que puse manos a la obra y corté mi patrón para confeccionar dicho porta tijeras.

That is why after seeing several publications on the internet there was a model that caught my attention, because it is very practical and functional, so I got down to work and cut my pattern to make this scissors holder.

Después proseguí a cortar en tela y entretela cada pieza necesaria, y planché la tela principal con la entretela.

Next up, I cut out all the necessary pieces in both the fabric and interfacing, and then I ironed the main fabric with the interfacing.

Luego con la ayuda de alfileres cosí la tapa y la cosí a ambas partes de los frentes del porta tijeras, seguido cerré por las orillas dejando una abertura para voltear y cosí un pespunte bordeando todas las orillas.

Then, using pins, I attached the flap by sewing it to both front pieces of the scissor holder. After that, I closed it up around the edges, making sure to leave an opening for turning it right-side out. Finally, I topstitched all the way around the edges.

Posteriormente proseguí cociendo cada compartimiento del porta tijeras ayudándome con los alfileres, y cociendo por la orilla indicada.

After that, I went on to sew each compartment of the scissor holder, using pins to hold everything in place and sewing along the indicated edge.

Para cerrar los siguientes compartimientos ajusté nuevamente con alfileres y pinzas y ajuste con costura recta hasta finalizar ambos compartimientos.

To close the remaining compartments, I pinned and clipped everything again and then stitched straight across to finish both compartments.

Por último cosí a mano el broche y listo ya tengo donde llevar seguro no solo las tijeras, sino también lápices, bolígrafos y cinta métrica.

Finally, I hand-stitched the snap closure, and there you have it! Now I have a safe place to carry not just my scissors, but also pencils, pens, and my measuring tape.

Antes no creía que fuera necesario o importante llevar las tijeras de una manera segura en nuestros bolsos, pues por lo general las guardamos en casa y las sacamos en el instituto o viceversa, mas en el camino puede que necesítenos sacar algo imprevisto del bolso y no sabemos si en el transitar dichas tijeras se abren y pueden ocasionar un pequeño accidente, así que mejor tomarnos un par de horas y confeccionarnos una manera práctica y segura de transportar nuestras tijeras.

Before, I didn't really think it was necessary or important to carry scissors safely in our bags. Usually, we just keep them at home and take them out at the institute or vice versa. But you never know, on the way, you might need to grab something unexpected from your bag, and you don't know if those scissors might open up and cause a little accident. So, it's definitely worth taking a couple of hours to make ourselves a practical and safe way to transport our scissors.
