Blessed new week dear friends on Hive, wishing everyone an amazing week ahead.
It always gladdens my heart to be a part of Needleworkmonday, because where creativity is showcased, there is always a reason to feel hopeful, grateful, and happy with everything around us, the colors, texture, and the satisfactory or maybe not-so-satisfactory result, but in each process we embark upon, there is always something refreshing to learn.
Today, I will be sharing with us the making process of a 2-year-old boy shirt, which I made out of yet another leftover fabric. I had this fabric left after making a shirt dress for myself, and just kept the leftover pieces, hoping to make something out of it, since it's just a small piece. I had a friend visit over the weekend with her son, so I thought to make a shirt for him before they leave, since it's simple and doesn't consume much time, overall, the leftover piece gets to be useful as a new piece of clothing instead of just laying idle in my fabric store bag, my little friend and his mom were both very happy with the shirt I made.
Materials used
- plain and patterned Crepe fabric
Cutting And Sewing Process
- I started by drafting the front and back shirt pattern
- Then sewed them by the shoulders
- Next, I drafted the collar pattern using the plain crepe fabric.
- continuing, I sewed it around the neckline after turning them neatly
- For the sleeves, I combined the patterned and pain crepe to make a short sleeve, which I sewed around both armholes.
- Finally, I joined the shirt by its side and also hemmed it neatly.
- I also made buttonholes and sewed in buttons to the shirt
Here is the beautiful final look.
Another beautiful creation made out of leftover fabric.
