NWM:crochet a tortoise 🐢

Video edited in capcut
Hi everyone and hope everyone is going good.I am going good too.
I am back in this community with a crochet project which is very close to my heart. It's a tortoise which is one of my favourite animals.I really like the slowness and hesitation of this animal. He is very reserved animal often avoiding risks and new experiences which is the thing i like in this animal. He is always happy in his comfort zone.
I was looking for some crochet ideas yesterday and i came across this beautiful tortoise which really caught my eye so i saved the tutorial and made this project before going to university. The weather is very chilly these days.I felt like it never stopped raining today.I don't like rainy days. They always brings my mood down so starting my day with a crochet project was a good idea

I used my 4ply red and white yarn.I used 4mm hook.I was planning on using the 3mm hook but I couldn't found it anywhere so I used 4mm hook.
I started by making the flippers two front one and two back one.

Then i made the head part which was also single crochet nd increase pattern like the flippers.I quickly completed the head and then waited for my sister to make his eyes cause i am so bad with sewing.

Then i made the star of the show the shell with my red yarn.I missed up the counting one time so i opened it and made it again. The shell part was very important to give the tortoise a smooth finish so I really focused on it

Then the assembling part started.I attached all the parts together and the most fun thing about this part was that there was no stitching needed to attach all the parts.I just did sc in the stitches and attached all of the parts.

Then i made the bottom part of the tortoise by doing sc in the same pattern then decrease.I also added polyester to the shell to give it a more defined look.In the bottom part i messed up some stitches but i managed.I think I struggled the most with the flippers part. When i was attaching them each of them was going to a different direction so it really gave me a hard time but i completed it somehow.

Final Look
