Luego de unas vacaciones obligadas, vuelvo al segmento Crochet Pacha. Esta vez tenía pendiente reparar mis collets o carmines. Esta actividad es sencilla pero no me daban ganas de hacerlo hasta ahora. ¡Veámos cómo fue esto!.
After an obligatory holiday, I return to the Crochet Pacha. This time I had to repair my collets, scrunchies or carmines. This activity is simple but I didn't feel like doing it until now.

Si estás en esta comunidad, de seguro eres de las personas quienes reparan sus prendas de vestir y accesorios. De los 4 collets de la foto: 2 están con la liga gastada (negro pequeño y el de cuadros verde), el rojo tiene la liga pequeña y la negra de al fondo está en óptimas condiciones. Por eso la elegí de modelo.
If you are in this community, you are probably one of those people who repair their clothes and accessories. Of the 4 collets in the photo: 2 have worn out garters (small black and green checkered), the red one has a small garter and the black one in the background is in good condition. That's why I chose it as a model.
Debido al uso las ligas suelen perder su elasticidad...A eso agrego que los collets tienen más de 5 años de uso diario. A excepción del collet en tonos rojizos, quien no tiene las ligas gastadas mas bien quiero agrandarlo. Por eso les quité las ligas a los collets para ver su tamaño real, tanto de la liga como de la tela usada para su elaboración.
Felizmente ubiqué rápidamente el punto final del collet rojizo para destejerlo y tejer una secuencia extra de 3 colores. Creo que esto es una ventaja cuando tú tejiste la prenda o accesorio.
The garters tend to lose their elasticity due to wear and tear... I would like to add that the collets have been in daily use for more than 5 years. With the exception of the reddish collet, which does not have worn rubber bands, but I want to make it bigger. That's why I removed the garters from the collets to see their real size, both of the garter and of the fabric used to make them.
I was happy to quickly locate the end stitch of the reddish collet to unweave it and weave an extra sequence of 3 colors. I think this is an advantage when you crocheted the garment or accessory.
Con un total de 48 filas de 18 puntos altos tejidos a crochet, logré alcanzar la medida del collet modelo (tamaño promedio). Luego corté la liga guiándome del collet que estaba en óptimas condiciones. Sí, le saqué y se lo volví a poner (jaja).
With a total of 48 rows of 18 double crochet, I managed to reach the size of the model collet (average size). Then I cut the garter, using the collet that was in good condition as a guide. Yes, I took it off and put it back on (jaja).
La ventaja de colocar la liga al collet tejido a crochet, es que al momento de colocar la liga, el crochet (o herramienta con la que colocas la liga) se mueve libremente por los espacios (de los puntos altos) y avanzar de manera segura jalando la liga. Comparado con los collets de tela, los cuales se tiene que hacerle huequitos para pasar la liga poco a poco y por todo el collet.
Cambiar las ligas a mis collets o scrunchies es una actividad que hago cada 5 años aproximadamente. También lo hago con mis buzos del diario y pijamas. Siento que es una forma de alargar les su vida útil. Ya me dieron ganas de tejer más collets a crochet, jaja.
The advantage of attaching the garter to the crocheted collet, is that when you attach the garter, the crochet (or the tool with which you attach the garter) moves freely through the spaces (of the high stitches) and pulls the garter securely through. Compared to the fabric collets, which you have to make little holes in the fabric to pull the garter through little by little and all over the collet.
I change the garters on my collets or scrunchies every 5 years or so. I also do it with my overalls and pyjamas. I feel it's a way to extend their life span. It makes me want to crochet more collets, jaja.

Thank you so much!. is not complicated. The total length is 36 cm (14.2 in) and the garter is 18 cm (7.1 in). In other words, the garter should be 1/2 of the total length of the weave. Big hugs.
