Si me dicen que teja un personaje con flores, a mi mente viene "Sarah Kay". Este diseño fue exclusivo para el reto de la Barbie. Si bien no llegué a presentarme (solo a mí se me ocurre diseñar desde cero, jaja), el proceso de tejerla me resultó divertido. Mas que todo porque se acerca el "Día de mamá" y este personaje le encanta a mí mamá.
If you tell me to crochet a character with flowers, ‘Sarah Kay’ comes to mind. This design was exclusive for the Barbie challenge. Even though I didn't get to introduce myself (only I can design from scratch, jaja), the process of crocheting it was fun for me. Mostly because ‘Mother's Day’ is coming up and my mum loves this character.

Conocí a este personaje por medio de un cliente, quien me encargó una muñeca a crochet de Sarah Kay. En ese entonces me puse a investigar sobre ese personaje y la diseñé a mi versión. A la cliente le encantó, me dijo que desde adolescente es fan de Sarah.
I met this character through a client, who asked me to crochet a Sarah Kay doll. At that time I started to research about this character and I designed her in my version. The client loved it, she told me that she has been a fan of Sarah since she was a teenager.
La versión anterior medía unos 12cm de altura. Ahora, decidí que fuese de 20 cm. Siendo este un nuevo diseño, con cuerpo base de tamaño grande para mí. Lo que resalto de este diseño es que no lleva alambre, el patrón está muy bien estructurado para que cada pieza quede fijo. Por otro lado, la bolcita de mis últimas compras la estoy utilizando para colocar mis diseños actuales mientras voy avanzando. Muy útil por cierto.
The previous version was about 4.7 in high. Now, I decided to make it 7.8 in. This is a new design, with a base body that is too big for me. What stands out about this design is that it has no wire, the pattern is very well structured so that each piece is fixed. On the other hand, I'm using the little bowl of my last purchases to place my current designs while I'm making progress. Very useful indeed.
Este personaje lleva detalles, uno de esos son sus lacitos. También le agregué un par de botones de madera para que tenga aspecto de agricultor de flores.
This character has details, one of those being his bows. I also added a couple of wooden buttons to give him a flower farmer look.
Para el bordado del rostro, hice una adaptación entre boceto del personaje y mi estilo. Eso lo hago cuando realizo muñecos personalizados y de personajes conocidos (como este caso).
For the embroidery of the face, I made an adaptation between the sketch of the character and my style. This is what I do when I make customised dolls of well-known characters.
Por último le agregué su florcita amarilla, jaja. Tejer a Sarah Kay me alegra bastante, en cada puntada siento esa ilución y ganas de vivir de las niñas y/o adolescentes al conocer a este personaje. ¡Feliz día a las mamitas de esta comunidad y a quienes lean esto!.
Finally I added her little yellow flower, jaja. Crocheting Sarah Kay makes me very happy, in every stitch I feel that illusion and desire to live of girls and/or teenagers when they meet this character. Happy Mother's Day to the mommies of this community and to those who read this!

Aaawww que bella!! Se ve de lo más tierna y bien hechecita. Me gusta mucho las florecitas amarillas y los botones de madera que le agregaste 😻 También los bolsillos de su jardinera.
Para este diseño me basé en la ilustración de Sarah Kay con temática primavera (aunque tenga solo una flor, jaja). A mí también me encató su jardinera. Abrazotes.
