NeedleWorkMonday: NeedleWork Your Pet! Contest - 2nd Edition

in NeedleWorkMonday2 months ago

Hello everybody,

After I read the post about this 2nd Edition, hmm, I was thinking what will be my entry this time. I searched first Pinterest for inspiration, need it must be simply and quick project because of my time is devoted to my hubby who can't pee that's why he have a catheter inserted. Our time is focus on his checked up with the urologist who's office is far, we travelled two hours to get there.

While searching Pinterest my eye caught the crocheted crown by a cute Kitten, so, I decided to make crowns for our two Kitties. First I made for the White/Black Kitty a red crown but after I made the crown, I have the difficulty on our photoshoot. He do not liked I placed the crown on him. So, next I made an orange crown for Tiger, the name I call our 2nd Kitty. After I made the crown, hmm, she liked it. She do not moved and I shoot her with ease. Then, last night I finished also my own crown, I was inspired with their simply crown, thus, I made for myself, too, ahahaha! Look!

The crowns were so simple I should sew beads on it but I have to time anymore. Just like yesterday we went to the hospital twice. So,bear with my Simple Crowns as my entry.

First I made the Red Crown, I first meaasure Kitty's head.

While I was thinking what stitch I will use, Kitty Puti was by my side and play with the red yarn.

I used twin double crochet as my foundation line for the crown measured until 10".

Here is the pattern:

Row(R) 1: make 21 twin dc(double crochet) starting ch(chain)2, 1dc in same 1st ch made - 1st twin dc made.repeat 21x.Join with slip stitch(sl st) see to it that the dc's do not twist

R2: ch 3, 2 edc(extended dc) in twin dc, 1dc in next st. Repeat 21x.Join with sl st to 3rd ch of 1st ch 3.

R3: ch 5, cluster dc in 3sts, ch 2, repeat 2x, ch 3, repeat 21x.Join with sl st into 2nd ch of ch5.

R4: 2sc(single crochet) in previous ch 5, 1sc in previous cluster made, [ch 3, 2 edc cluster, 1edc cluster in next previous cluster, 2edc cluster in previous ch 2, 1 edc in previous cluster, group all edc made into cluster, ch 3, slst into the cluster made as picot then sl st 2x into the last edc] you made the first triangle, repeat 7x. Sl st then weave ends. Done.

For Kitty Tiger Crown, I made 18 twin dc because her head is much smaller.
